I was rather drunk at that game, early morning start on the train from Leeds and all that, I don't think I've actually seen the game at all despite being in the stadium at the time.
Just don't ask me what happened to 1972 either, I don't remember the whole year...

Sorry, it is a Wigan song for me all the way this one. It became their anthem throughout their record breaking CC run. My memories of the song are losing to Wigan... on many CC occasions. |

Without a doubt, its a fantastic song. how many of todays team could sing it?
I was thinking simply the best because John was that, nothing to do with Wigan, it was the Winfield cup anthem of the time. anyway keep right on to the end of the road will get a airing somewhere along the line if wardy has anything to do with it! |

IIRC it was actually used on the Winfield Cup pre-season TV ad and didn't Tina actually appear in the ad?
It was then brought to British RL and because Wigan were just starting their run of dominance it became the song that got played after final wins etc. As such, it became a Wigan song by default. |
