| Just don't see the Gale move being legit.
He's a top earner at Cas.
No way we'd pay him the same.
He's got what - 2/3yrs left on his Cas deal?
For Gale to come to us it'd have to be a case of him really wanting to play for us as he'd need to take a pay cut. Can't see it happening at all - thankfully.

I'm glad our adverts keep up to speed with our transfer activities

| Quote Gotcha="Gotcha"Sounds like changes of plans with quotas etc. Hearing Gale deal now done, and announcement this week. See if that happens.'"
I'd be disappointed as a Cas fan but no bad feelings from me. Would be interesting to see him become just a very confident player, that is needed in a HB, rather than a cocky shat who deserves to die slowly & painfully.

| I’m going to risk egg>face here, but I’m going to give credit where it’s due to the club.
I know some of the recent transfers have been contentious, and we’re still a couple of signings short of being a consistently competitive side - however the club and KS have acted in the face of adversity and made some very tough decisions. It’s easy for us to criticise (and I have heavily criticised the administration for getting us into this mess) - however these guys work together every day and it’s a hard industry.
We’re not out of the woods yet but at least we’ve played a hand or two and we’re doing whatever we can given the situation.

| Good post KJ, I agree. From the outside it looks very messy where the club is at, but reports from inside the camp seem very positive. I think players (existing and incoming) are really buying into what Sir Kev is building towards. Personally, I can still see at least another season after this of mixed results/overhaul of players, but after all our success I can live with that.
On the Gale front, I was told by a prominent journo that Gale was a done deal, there was then a report a week later saying one of our main targets had fallen through. Maybe it is back on. I'm glad we've not sold our soul for Hastings, no one player is bigger than the club and sounds like his demands were not reasonable.

Yes agreed - Hastings is good but he's not the only game in town. If our interest has made Wigan pay over the odds in replacing Williams, all good.
I'm undecided about Gale for Leeds on a number of fronts, but IF true then I do think he'd partner nicely with Lui and we have McLelland chomping at the bit.
It would be a huge gamble on form and fitness though.
Implications of Gale coming in (or just even the rumours) are also about Myler and his future.

| Short term Maloney would turn virtually any side into contenders. I guess a lot depends on whether the club believe McClelland will make it as well.

| If we could afford Maloney, I’d be surprised if we could fit him in under the cap without the third marquee spot being agreed. Would welcome him here otherwise. Might prefer Sezer on balance though.

| This will be controversial but I was hoping Myler would look better with a decent partner and he did. I know it's only one game, and he looked ok not a worldy but it means we don't have to make any snap decisions or get bent over by a players demands.
