| It's the format that is not much cop which is why it's going in 2015 and not before time.
Should Warrington and Leeds progress tomorrow from 5th and 6th (and they should as they are at home playing weaker opponents) they'll no doubt be installed as favourites in week two despite being away from home against teams on a higher finish.

| so we're definitely going to Huddersfield next weekend then.
Fancy us to win there with no Brough, and at Saints after our encounters this season. Cas just folded like a pack of cards.

| Wigan and Saints will have both had two weeks off and plenty of rest before the semi finals. They'll believe they are invincible after their blowout wins against garbage. I don't believe two weeks holiday prior to a semi final is ideal preparation at all.
A strategy for Leeds over the next 2 weeks of their working holiday could well be a continuance of their "tossing-it-off regular season style" approach but with just a tiny little bit of urgency applied so they beat Catalan and Huddersfield by just a few points instead of an avalanche, hence giving the impression of a side still struggling for genuine form. This will provide Wigan and St Helens with a further false sense of security as they'll assume Leeds really are like a horse on it's last legs destined for the knackers yard.
Seven point margin wins in both games would be cool so that King Kev gets some crucial DG practice in for when it really counts in the semi. Tossing it off for one point margin victories just for added effect would probably be a risky step too far, even if it is against SL garbage like Catalan and Hudds.

| Did Cas pose for a team photo under the sticks tonight?
Haven't watched a minute of these playoffs and may not even bother with tomorrow's as I am out in the afternoon and the game isn't enough to lure me to the stadium or home to watch it.
Sky+ and a watch when I get in if I can be arrised.

| Week 1 is pointless. Rabble dispatched, small teams who finished too high get spanked

| Did Powell tells the players to not bother about tonight - they were as bad as Huddersfield were the night before - R1 of the play offs should just be 5th to 8th the other games are a waste of space

A week off isn't ideal when you've just had a low intensity stroll in the park against playoff rabble, I agree. We saw with wigan in 2012 how off the pace they were first half after their chill out session against catalans in week 1.
