| Quote: bewildered "I thought we looked pretty good for a first run out. The youngsters played well and I was impressed with Hood. Was gutted Coady didn't score with his first touch.
Was really impressed with Cross today. Does the hard work and looks the same sort of team player as Peacock in that he was always looking to get on the ball. Was also happy with Burgess, thought he played really well'"
I thought the same thing about Cross very similar in style to JP which can`t be a bad thing. Delaney also had a good game so not sure what some people want or watch. Burgess ran hard and Watkins showed some pace and was pleased with his performance to say he had a year out.
Credit to Wakefield for coming back into it in the last ten minutes in their last season in SL

EDIT: Except in Ireland where there is no such thing as good weather:10381.jpg |

Thanks McF. No place for idiots like that in 2011. Keep up the good work

what visa problems are these then? I wondered where both were not in the squad today when they were named in the boxing day squad? I thought/assumed therefore that both were in the country?

When it was announced on the radio yesterday morning it had come from the RFL who had "advised us" not to play them due to some visa issues ,the club have said it's a minor admin problem and will be sorted this week.

| No serious injuries says Mac therefore JJB must be fairly OK - looked a nasty injury to begin with.

I said dead leg to my mate straight away. He was hit hard in his thigh and seemed to be pointing at that area first. It was a hell of a 3 man hit though off a questionable ball

Just over 12k was given I think but a few thousand union fans left throughout the game. Probably too depressed to see what they are missing out on watching their brand every week
And btw. When was the last time the pitch looked that good at this time of the year? Can anyone remember the last time we had heavy rain? I mean yeah we had the snow but it will have been protected with the sheets. It just seems to have been fairly dry for the last few months.

Why Sir, thats plain ridiculous.
You seem to be suggesting that its the weather that affects the condition of the pitch whereas every fool knows that its the union flavour of the game that does the damage, every year.

Are you suggesting that the playing of rugger during the winter months doesn't damage the pitch?

| Overall a good display for the first run out of the pre season
Watkins for me looked a real danger and opened up quite few holes in the Wakey defence
Few questions for me though;
1) Was that really a worth a trip to the Sin Bin?
2) Wakey, how much work do they have to do if that was their first performance?
3) BJB try, one of the best seen at Headingley?

Ah yes, sorry. Those bloody rugby players with their rucks and their mauls and their contested scrums... That better?

In last seasons Heineken Cup, out of every 100 scrums in which Leicester were engaged, 77 had to be reset, Ospreys had 68
staggering fact from our good friend Stephen Jones in todays Sunday Times
