Would be most interested in how McShane performed ? Did Ablett spend whole match at stand off ? You're right about the 'silly penalties'...seems really daft for a professional team. Less said about Diskin the better I guess (don't want to start 'that one' again)

| In answer to some of the questions above
Bush did get on, but IIRC only right at the end of the game.
Selection dilemas - not really apart from fitting Hall back in with Webb, Donald, Senior, Smith, Delaney, which was already an issue before this game. The new lads did well and look to be good prospects, but for me the game was won by some big performances from the regulars, especially (in no particular order) Smith, Kylie, Ablett (who did spend much of the game at SO), Webb and Buderus.

Thanks for that. Where did he stick Bush when he came on ? Did McShane have a good game in your opinion ?
Somebody else on here recently suggested giving Hall a run at LF to solve the issue of where to slot in Smith.....imaginative.
I confess my imagination doesn't stretch that far....but hey what do I know. I never envisaged Ablett as a stand off, or even a centre, but he seemingly continues to confound the sceptics.
Anybody else think there is any mileage in the suggestion of Hall at LF ?

Bush played on the wing - had one clear run for the try line from about 70mtrs but was outpaced and caught on around halfway. Doesn't have the pace for the wing IMO, probably why he's a full back predominantly but while Webb and Smith are here it's hard to see him getting a go there.
McShane did OK, took his try well and a few good in game kicks to turn the defence around. I have high hopes for him especially having Buderus to learn from.

| Thought Coady might have got a run out instead of Bush.
How did Amor play?
Not sure how we can drop Smith for the next game.
From comments made I would leave Diskin out next week and maybe play McShane in the 17.

Have previously said the same. We also hopefully have Ben Jones-Bishop back for competition at full-back next season. Maybe even Smith would continue to struggle to claim his own spot next season and will remain our "utility back" that he fast appears to be becoming now this season.
Hard to see a future for Bush at Leeds in either wing or full-back position.
My sentiments too ref McShane...and next season we should certainly give priority to Buderus and McShane for the hooking role (over Diskin)....but by expressing such an opinion you always run the risk of being abused on here of course.

Can't disagree with Coady over Bush.....but he appears to be short of pace too. As before, somebody recently suggested giving Hall a run at LF to accommodate Smith on the wing. Not sure myself, but it at least shows imagination.
I would probably start Hall on the bench next match as Smith does appear to have done enough to keep his place.....certainly instead of Diskin, who it appears is not improving.
Dare I suggest (again) that I agree McShane should perhaps now ALREADY be first choice back-up to Buderus ??

Don't be silly, It's a fair and valid opinion, some of us just like to debate these things, no one gets "abused".
The day we all agree on everything southstander will become a very boring place.

Some sensitive souls seem to believe that disagreeing with their point of view IS abuse.
Christ knows how they get on in the real world, or maybe they don't.

On this board, to be fair to nantwich, there is a huge difference between disagreeing and what response is given. Of course that seems to apply to the same poster/s all the time.

| Interesting dilemma for McLennan this week.
Crusaders will be no pushovers as their performance against Bradford showed yesterday.
Does he retain his "utility back" in the starting line-up after three tries and an excellent goal-kicking performance? If so, at whose expense? A week off for Webb maybe?

Webbs just had a two week break. I'd rest Delaney. he's played a lot of matches including the last 12, and has a high workrate. Give him a rest I'd say.

| Fair point, I just thought that leaving Webb out may be a way to send a message about indiscipline and in particular dissent to the rest of the squad.
