| I don’t really want Agar as the coach going forward, however I do not think bringing in a coach for the rest of this season will do anyone any good at all, theres been a shed load of upheaval this year I don’t think adding to it by getting a new coach in at this point is the right thing to do.

Agreed. Id want any new coach coming in to have a clean slate and full pre season to start from.

| Quote Fallon="Fallon"Define poor?
Wakefield have been relegation/mid table fodder for decades. Hull have been inconsistent for years. His win % at hull was 45% and Radford's is 51%, really not that much difference.
A really really top coach can have a great influence on a team but they are few and far between and none are knocking on our door.
The important part of the equation is a talented squad with some leaders thrown in. The coach is important sure, but secondary.'"
Agar was awful. The rugby we played under him mirrored his dour persona. Had he not been buddies with the hetheringtons hed ha e lasted a couple if years at most.
I'm surprised that Danny ward isnt being mentioned. Hes getting far more out of far less than agar and a former team mate of sinfield. Unless hes another former team mate who doesn't get on with sinfield

Surely you want next years coach to be involved in recruitment and preparation for next year? Not to mention the benefit of getting to know the players ready to hit the ground running next year? Or would that take away what sinfield sees himself doing?
As an outsider, Leeds look really poorly coached and seem to have little in the way of game plan or cohesion which is the minimum you should expect with ball in hand

Weve looked like that for 3 years under 4 different coaches. The squad is not good enough but I believe the management are now trying to fix that
I want us to stay in SL and not get relegated, the club has had a merry go round of coaches and players in the last year, a new coach will add nothing but more changes, next year for me is another right off but Id like to see us winning more often than not, I don’t think we’ll be back challenging for anything till at least 2022

It’s hard to say. If we do stay up, we could be looking at a brand new half back combo, I would imagine there will be a new high quality forward too with the cap space we should have.
There is a good side in there waiting to happen, it just needs the gaps filling.
It’s not impossible that a couple of the academy lads might feature more next year and with another full closed season under their belts. Holroyd, Trout, Mustapha and
Johnson get decent game time. We have plenty more to cover for injuries too.
I would prefer us to have a new coach in place for next year but it needs to be the right person.
I’m saying this on the basis of the number of games we’ve lost through rubbish half back play, and teams romping through the Watkins/Lolohea channel.
One more barnstorming forward and another half back, Leeds are a different proposition in 2020. if we stay up.

I agree regarding Ward. His team are much better than the sum of their parts and given our current squad, or even what our squad looks like it will be next season, that's what we need.
He strikes me as someone who knows his own mind, and I suspect that was Furners downfall so perhaps there is the answer.
As for agar been dour. We endured years of McD. Don't get me wrong, lots of trophies but hours of te rugby as well as the highlight reel stuff.

| We missed the window to replace Furner this year. The current recruitment is mainly about survival. No point getting yet another coach in - it had zero impact last season because the problem is mainly a rubbish squad.

| Just checked out the Canberra fan forum again; one poster reckons Sezer is on $500k. That is a fair wedge to fit under the cap unless the third Marquee allowance comes in.
Not convinced another NRL club wouldn’t come in for him. He’d have to want to try his hand in England I think... would be excited by a Lui/Sezer partnership with McLelland back up for 2020 in theory.
Surely though this speculation over Hastings and possibly Sezer must mean that Myler will be exited too?

Agreed. If those signings are made i believe we get in the top 5. We have an excellent crop of young players coming through the best since the golden generation so i can see us getting right back up there by 2021

| Also puts pressure on Sutcliffe whose only route to first team now must be to duke it out for a back row spot.

| So far we are looking at 2020:
Walker, Briscoe, Newman, Hurrell, Handley, Lui, Myler, Cuthbertson, Dwyer, Singleton, Merrin, Ablett, Ward, Sutcliffe, Mellor, Seumanufagai, Peteru, Oledzki, Crosby, Golding, McLelland, Briscoe, Sutcliffe, Waite-Pullan, Holroyd, Trout, Johnson, Dupree, Mustapha, Albert. (This has no Smith, Donaldson, Lunt or Ferres as expiry 2019)
That’s 30 players from this years squad. I’d still be expecting a number of changes from that, maybe Singleton, Golding, Ablett. However we will have a much bigger squad with the reserves returning
