| The NRL deadline is for them to register players. It won't bother them if Sezer leaves after that unless they want to bring someone else in and need to free up cap space.
Sezer was a hot prospect at the Titans but hasn't really kicked on as well as hoped. He'd be far better than Myler or Sutcliffe though. Assuming the interest from us is real I wonder whether the thinking there is partly about letting Hastings know he's not the only game in town, as well as giving the club a plan B?

Brizzo what do you reckon to Sezer for us then? Seems a good fit for what we need - could partner well with Lui?
Maybe not as stellar as Maloney can be, but a little younger and probably not quite as expensive I imagine.
There could be some logic going for a couple of older halves who are happy to be in England, rather than players who really want to go to Aus. Down the line we should be able to develop a couple through the Academy perhaps.

| With the extra space in SL Sezer would be a stand out half over here. Would be just the type of player we need hope it happens.

| Either of Lui - Hastings or Lui - Sewer is a great combo.
Hope we get at least one of Hastings/Sezer

Ooh, sounds like Matty Smith.

| With Kal almost gone, had there been any announcement or rumour about captaincy for the rest of the year? Assuming the Ferres abberation/abhorrence won't be repeated are there many/any sensible options outside of Merrin?

| Seen some kicking highlights of Sezer on Twitter. He looks ideal for us.

Merrin shouldn’t get it unless he’s really delivering in the role model thing. We have a batch of youngsters coming through who need to see best habits.
Ward could be a choice again but can’t seem to stay fit.
Dunno if there is anyone else outside those two currently at the club.

As Tui shows though, we really need to see the lowlights reel before getting excited!
Agree though with Sezer, on paper could be ideal for us while we’re developing some more half backs in-house.
Interestingly he looks to be left handed too - could be nice to work the right hand side with a more natural flow.

I would think he will get the captaincy, but there are some caveats: his conditioning could be better (although he produces the goods on the field), he’s not on for 80 mins, he goes off at referees too much, he might be a bit too much of a joker and I still think there’s a chance he’ll head back to Aus before his contract with us is done.
On the other hand he is an ex Aus international, he wears his heart on his sleeve and is extremely team-focused. He is also consistent.
End of the day it will depend on the dynamics behind the scenes.

| Sezer wouldn't be as dominant as Hastings but organising and kicking is his strength. He'd probably go well with virtually anyone else.
