| Doubt there's any truth in this rumour, he's not good enough to play for us.
I'm yet to be convinced on the value of signing Briscoe too but oh well.

| I cannot see GH signing either Tom Briscoe or Gaskell to be honest.
I'd be surprised if this turned out to be anything more than another rubbish 'Internet' rumour

| Those rubbishing Asotasi need their bumps feeling.
Warrington are losing Carvell and Morley at the end of the season. Asotasi is certainly an upgrade on the former, and possibly on the latter on 2013 form.
I'd definitely have him ahead of every other prop at Leeds apart from Peacock.

| Reading the YEP they have an interview with Alex Foster who reveals he's still got 2yrs left on his contract which is good news imo.

Whilst i certainly wouldnt rubbish the signing, and acknowledge he is a high profile name, he has not been too great for Souths this year so far from what i have seen, and has a recent record of bad injuries. He is 32,33 by the time he plays for Wire so there has to be a little bit of risk involved here on Warrington's part as i am sure they are paying him big bucks and he will be expected to carry the pack now Carvell and Morley have gone.If the real Roy Asotasi shows up they do have a great signing, but i am sceptical.(see Ben Cross )

| The real Ben Cross did show up. That Leeds couldn't be d to scout him properly and took the word of Danny Buderus that he was any good was their fault, not Cross's.

Is this how Leeds recruit players these days?
So if a current squad member says that another player is pretty good we just go ahead and sign them?
I can see this system having its pitfalls TBH.

| Quote: Gotcha "Yep, because Andy Yates is much more inspired signing.'"
I've never seen Yates play and he may turn out to be Luke Ambler rather than Chris Hill but these signings can be more inspired than someone like Asotasi.
I recall years ago Leeds made a splash by signing 30ish big name internationals George Mann and Emosi Koloto. Wigan on the other hand went for a couple of young forwards from Salford and Oldham called Barrie McDermott and Terry O'Connor.

Correct with briscoe with regards to Gaskell it would probably depend on which position the club think would suit him.
Or do they want him as a squad utility player.
I must admit I am undecided . One player I am pleased we did not sign is Ellis, whilst he has had a bad run of injuries he does not seem as quick and mobile as he used to be. Maybe too many high impact games in Australia .

I wish we had signed Koloto.
However, since returning to New Zealand he's taken up a far less reputable profession: www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/artic ... d=10555862
