| Quote: gpartin "As a Wigan fan I didn't have an issue with the Rhino's fans singing after Tomkins was flattened by Ablett and can't really see any irony in the same fans complaining about the chants and shouts from Cas 'fans' after Burgess was flattened. The reason there's no irony is that Tomkins wasn't lying pretty much motionless on the floor requiring a neckbrace and stretcher whereas Burgess was and it was pretty obvious that it looked like a bad injury yet certain fans continued to chant and shout. Its bad enough that there are some people who behave like this but as far as I'm concerned its worse that people see nothing wrong with it, come up with ridiculous arguments in defence of this kind of behaviour or deny anything happened. I really couldn't give a rats ass if Castleford lose their licence after this, its rugby league not football and I found it sickening. As for the challenge itself it was unfortunate there was a clash of heads but I'm not convinced there's a great deal of skill involved in running at someone at full speed and there's probably not a huge difference between a shoulder and an elbow in terms of the damage they can do with momentum behind them but its within the rules.
The only irony I can see in this in relation to the incident with Ablett and Tomkins, is that 'Bluey' seems to be the only person claiming this was a foul and was also the only person claiming Ablett's wasn't. I think he's a bit muddled with rules.
Where did you find this numpty ?????
Its time to forgive Cas for beating you in the regal final and spoiling your first game at the soccer ground, if you were interested in rugby league then, or still suckin on mummy.
No wonder the games going to e with newbies like this .
Gos help rugby league
Get well soon biff

I think this is the table Judderman is alluding tohttps://www.superleague.co.uk/page.php?id, where as of the 4 Aug 2010 we are second bottom, a massive one point behind the squeaky clean Wigan.

However when Carl Ablett took out Sam Tomkins with his illegal challenge you Leeds fans were chanting " Yorkshire , Yorkshire , Yorkshire", boot on the other foot now , however tonight's was an accident , still not nice though is it, maybe something to think about for you.'"
I guess the other difference in the two incidents has also passed you by. In the Leeds v Wigan match the Wigan players took the law into their own hands with Joel Tomkins and others launching themselves at Ablett (which went unpunished). I didn't see any Leeds players starting a mass brawl with the Cas players on Friday after the tackle on Burgess... Being such a dirty team you'd expect Leeds to want a scrap for any reason wouldn't you

Also, a point Judderman may have missed during his anti-Leeds rant is:
Misconduct Pens:
1. Quins - 22
2. Bradford -33
3. Huddersfield - 33
4. Warrington - 33
5. Castleford - 36
6. Wigan - 36
7. Wakefield - 38
8. Crusaders - 40
9. Leeds - 40
10. St Helens - 43
11. Salford - 44
12. Hull FC - 46
13. Catalans - 48
14. Hull KR - 48
Leeds are hardly the team of "thugs" that is being made out if 5 teams commit more misconduct penalties than Leeds. Plus there is a whole 4 penalty difference between Leeds & Cas, obviously those 4 penalties were so reprehensible that they make Leeds scum compared to the Arsenal of RL that Cas is.
The only club that could possibly describe themselves as "clean" are Quins. Top of fair play index, good youth development, sounds like Quins are playing the game the way its supposed to be. Maybe Cas should take a leaf out of Quins book, they might stay in SL that way.

| My only issue with this one - and others - is that when the player is actually not moving and lying prone on the deck, is there any need for the player who made the tackle to dance and wave his arms like a deluded numnut? I hate to see this - no matter who the player or team is - as most players will get up but when they dont - like Chris Sanderson and Mick Shoebottom - it isnt a laughing matter. The way Walker reacted was as if Cas had just stopped Leeds in their own half and they were winning!
With regards to the fair play league, that is a load of mish mash. Scruton made a spear takle, he got sent off and banned from the next couple of games. Andy Coley did one against Buderus this season, put on report and just a one game ban. Also the previous month, Sam Tomkins did a spear tackle, not on report, nothing said so unless the disciplinary system is fair to all teams then the fair play league doesnt hold any credability. I agree totally with Brian McDermott who expressed himself vocally following Paul Sykes let off for the dangerous throw - it only carries either a one or two match ban. Ablett got three matches, when at worst, Tomkins would have had either a fat lip, broken nose or a black eye. As for Buderus following the throw by Coley - possibility of a wheelchair for life. RFL need to get this one sorted!

If you bothered to read the text in the link provided by McLaren you would have noticed that prior to the Wigan game Leeds were 8th.
The maximum penalty handed down to Ablett causing their dramatic slide. One incident, one debateable incident, that's it. Surely you've got more evidence than that?

Indeed, its a very arbitrary and ultimately pointless "league table", if you are going to judge the least penalised team in SL at the end of the year then just have a look at how many penalties have been awarded - simples - trying to then score them with arbitrary points is only going to result in a skewing of the hard facts, makes it look a bit like a rugby union league table where the team who loses the most games isn't necessarily the one at the bottom of the table as long as they lose them nicely.
