| Time to move on, Austin isnt playing. I think the main battle will be up front. I know people want Cam Smith starting at 13 but you wouldnt be suprised to see Mik, Tet and Prior all starting with Smith on the bench again would you? Not saying thats right way to go but now Prior is fit you wouldnt be shocked if those 3 started.
Wire have a big advantage in the halves now but if our pack can get on top it will help stop that. Not sure who Wire have replaced Chris Hill with for this year. Maybe they are slightly weaker up front? I dont know. I can certainly see it being a physical battle Saturday.
Williams is pure class and a big danger. 2 very good teams it will be a big boost for whoever gets the points but both should be challenging come playoff time.

| Like others have said, Myler to half back and Walker / Broadbent to full back. Centre's two of Newman, Sutcliffe and Briscoe.
Shame to lose Austin, however, the above options are still more than capable.
I haven't seen Wanky's team for comparison. Shame Kendall is ref, worst ref in SL for mine.

From what the Wire fans are saying I think they also think they are a bit light upfront. Whilst Austin being out is a blow I don't think it will make or break the game, we have a capable squad.
Will be an interesting battle and hopefully a great spectacle for Channel 4
Just hope if we do lose this board doesn't go into meltdown, maybe a 'for the live of god Agar out' will pop up

| Quote: christopher "So anyway Austin definitely out as were not appealing, really not sure what id go with - depends on Newman being fit and Walker being ready… but if both are good to go id go
Walker
Fuzzy
Newman
Briscoe
Handley
Myler
Sezer
Oledski
Leeming
Prior
Bentley
Martin
Smith
Dwyer
Tetevano
Donaldson/Gannon
????? Really not sure about the last bench spot
Wire are actually quite light in the pack also IMO
If Walker isn’t ready and Newman injured id put Myler at full back, Broadbent in the centres and Sutty at 6'"
I imagine Thompson will be thereabouts, he does add some bulk up front and he's generally solid if not spectacular.
Are we able to play O'Connor? As a makeshift half he could do a job, although if Sutcliffe is fit you'd imagine he'll slot in somewhere.
We could even play Briscoe on the RHS and Sutcliffe LHS in the centres, if Newman isn't fit. It's not like Briscoe doesn't have experience on the right. Broadbent then either in at 6 or on the bench perhaps as cover. I like Broadbent but his D is still suspect for me at times, he needs some more upper body development at open age.

I think our issue is we all know everything will go through Sezer now. Breaking them down wont be easy because of that.
Our advantage should be in the pack. If we are patient, not try and score on miracle plays and are disciplined in that approach we will be ok.
Bound to rust and cobwebs in week one tho.

Cameron Smiths handling could be key for that reason.

True, just shave from TV and marketing perspective. But yeah we are stronger up front. Game could hinge in what sort of mood Williams is in…… think best half in either squad…

Yes, let's just ignore the game's operational rules in favour of making it more exciting or interesting.
That's a wormhole Formula One is struggling to get out of having serious damage to its credibility as a sporting contest - we absolutely don't want that sort of idiocy in Rugby League.

| It's not the application of the rules that should change, but the rules themselves. The sport has its knickers in such a twist about litigation for head injury that I think it has gone too far in some areas.
Some of the bans for what I think are innocuous incidents are silly. We need to see players on the field and it is a contact sport.
I also don't believe that bans should be based on games - a points system would be better, where it recognises the difference in say, a play-off or final versus a regular league game or a friendly. I don't like the current process but hey what do I know.

| I understand the frustration with the new approach but a late tackle especially high around shoulders/neck or head are dangerous and are not part of the game. I have seen tacked on David Ward and Hanley in the past that have resulted in players being out for months so those tackles should be outlawed. I have no objection to bans but they have to be consistent and in the past they have been severe for a few weeks and then eased off and that in my opinion is the problem.
I don’t want the physicality removed from our sport just the cowardly stuff on star players.

Sounds possibly the worst idea ever...actually no its brilliant. Tetevano go and knock Williams head off youve currently no points, its a league game and you cant get banned. Next week Bentley can you do same and week after Mik its your turn.
Cup game this week lads its a double point round so squeaky clean this week lads.
I can only imagine everyone would be delighted on here if Sezer gets his cheekbone broken by someone who hasnt accumlated enough points to get a ban.
Deary deary me.

| Think some are confusing cheap shots with minor infringements where no one gets hurt.
Can’t we just start letting refs actually ref and manage the sport with yellows/reds that carry a mandatory ban?
