Fortunately Agar will have more sense.

That's a great use of cap money? Surely Leeds would simply trade him and everyone moves on. Nobody is bigger than the club and the club have flexed their muscles and Gale is the loser - thankfully.

He has done himself no favours - especially with his team mates

Over reactions or what, last few years Sutcliffe, average and wanted moving on, now he’s John Holmes incarnate again.
Doubt Gale will go anywhere, remember Ellery getting stripped of Wigan Captaincy still played at Wigan for few more years.

More importantly, Schoey after the infamous removal of the captaincy at Leeds by Dougie, stuck around until early '96. Although he was arguably never quite the same afterwards.

Time to move on. Gale will be judged by his performances. If he impresses and performs at last seasons level he may get a two year offer elsewhere and walk at the end of the season. Otherwise at the age of 34 highly unlikely he will get a contract offer to match his Leeds salary so will stay put. Hopefully he comes back in and plays a blinder. Could be a blessing in disguise as Prior is clearly the outstanding captaincy candidate from a role model perspective

Credit to Gale for his piece in the YEP, but I must say, I think a bit less of him than I did before this saga. It's a real shame this happened, as we can all see how the spirit and togetherness in the squad has grown in recent months, and that's despite a disrupted schedule. Let's hope Gale can use this episode as motivation and can repay his teammates, the club and its supporters with some top-level performances.

Gale is still a good player, I’m not unhappy with him starting at 7 for us.

Really when he’s got the best deal at Leeds he is likely to find at his age, he has a big incentive to stay put and get on with it. Plus I do think he cares about the club and playing here.

Still interested to know if we are going to land any more players. We’re not far off but I’m not sure we are as good as we could be going into next year still.

It’s possible to read GH’s comments on Sinfield leaving and take a view that recruitment for next year has been done. Hope not but time
Will tell.

I’m not sure we are - it will depend on retention too.

If we don’t end up retaining Martin and/or Hurrell that is a right chunk of cap ans quota spots. Can’t see us not making more additions in that context.

It will depend who becomes available and in which key positions we might want t to strengthen in.

Personally ill be happy to go as we are, I don’t think we’ve actually seen what this squad can do for one reason or another if Hurrell and Martin get extensions id be happy with the squad, when we add in Bentley and Sexer plus a fit Walker snd Broadbent i think we’ve got a squad capable of doing something

I think the statement from GH about our recruitment/squad for 2022 being sorted simply means we’ve retained the OOC players we want to but have yet to formally announce them and that anyone new coming in (ie Austin) has already been signed but again is just waiting to be officially announced, so our business is all done, just that some of it is yet to be released to the public

I don`t think Gale will be with you next season, wherever he is, he wants to be the centre of attention, sometimes that goes for him as it has done over the last few years, sometimes it doesn`t.

I fully expect him to be at Wakefield next year.

Is that it then ?

I have to say a HB combo of Austin and Sezer looks more complementary than Gale and Sezer, but both are an upgrade on what we've had available this year.

Gale is a bit up and down for me - I do like him but he has some rubbish in his game too and always has. What I will say that he's linked in well with Mellor, Sutcliffe and Myler on that left hand side at times and that's a pretty potent combination.
