We managed for most of last season without Walker and I seem to think he missed a slice of the season before that.
I would keep Myler at FB as he was woeful in the halves and hope McLelland is fit to partner someone like Sutcliffe which is not ideal but only means one player out of position based on last years performance.
Ironically Golding who was deemed inferior to Walker is also going to miss a few months of the season at Huddersfield.
It`s a shame for Lui too as I was hoping for a big season from him this year after he lost some weight and looks to be fitter.

I think we will have to expect a fairly disjointed feel to the side early doors. With Gale limited in skills training (I assume) and Eastmond returning from RU, it may take our halves a month or so to begin to click.

Players like Gale will slot straight back in, no problem. Experienced enough and knows what systems we play. Will bring Eastmond or Mclelland along no end too....

I read today where Davidson thinks Gale and Newman will be good to go for week 1. Means that theres less of a selection headache at least.

I didn’t think we’d make much progress for 2021 but we have ended up with some intriguing signings, plus a good closed season into our upcoming talent.

Still don’t think we are quite there yet but if we get some luck with injuries for once then wouldn’t rule anything out. What is good is that we have fewer obvious weaknesses now which means we should be past major surgery and into tweaking stage now.

I will be extremely surprised if Newman plays round 1 or any fixtures in the first month of the season.

You are correct we are past the major surgery and the early, mid recovery stage , but there is a hell of alot of tweaking to get to the standards of Wigan and Saints .

Not 'rushing' player is a funny one. You can give someone a rolls Royce come back, but then one unfortunate tackle later that's it. Just ask Stevie Ward, or Don Manfredi.
The longer I observe sport, I kinda think that when your ready you should get back in as soon s possible. Mentally best thing imho..

Perhaps. But you have to play for a fair while before you k back to your best. Running up and down a treadmill cam only go on so long.....
What makes you think Watkins was rushed back out of interest?
