| If we were willing to compromise and buy another 'middle' rather than a prop I'd sooner they got Greenwood and left the overseas spot available for a quality prop when they became available.

| No problem with this , yes he's raw at elite level but id rather we put a 1yr gamble on signings like this than recall Ferres or give a 3yr deal to a one legged shot Crosby.
He looks powerful & he's certainly keen enough im looking forward to seeing how he gets on.
I still rhink we need more quality rather than quantity but we have a lot of SC space to play with at the end of this year so if King pays off its win win & more £ on a 6 & retaining our best Youngsters.

Of course i have been wrong before and nothing will make me happier than the Guy being a success !'"
How do you know no one else wanted him?

| Given that there are plenty of other super league clubs in the market for an overseas prop at the moment I'd suggest it's highly unlikely that there wasn't other interest. We have landed two props in the space of the month, one a top level international who will be as good as anything else in the league, and one who who is something of gamble. Sometimes you have to take a chance and good on the club for doing so. How many top line Aussie props do people thing are going to pop over to Covid ridden England in the middle of a pandemic?

| Quote: Jack Burton "Sounds promising, although, you have to bare in mind that the NRL calculates meters differently to opta, so those meter stats will be inflated, and not a true reflection.'"
Yeah the meter stats are measured differnt to over here, but when i say the 10.4 per carry stat is very good, thats in comparison to other NRL forwards we'v signed in the past, been linked with, that have joined other superleague clubs, or under the radar forwards iv taken an interest in that have impressed me, that iv researched and taken stats from... all using the NRL.Com stats system.
Over those 3 games, his post contact meters were very good...54 post contact meters from 11 total runs against the panthers for example, best pcm per run of all forwards in that game, both teams... Tetavano made 53 post contact meters from 16 total runs in the same game.
Again, very, very small sample size, and im not trying to sell him as some world beater, but after my initial, who is he, after finding out more and wathching a couple of games, im pleasantly suprised and pretty optimistic about him. In his limited action he seems to do what imo we'r crying out for, a prop who runs it in hard and makes good yards after contact.

We have signed a big quality prop called Zane Tetevano

| Plenty of superleague clubs have done decent business over the off season and I'm not sure we were ever going to get a top aussie prop after signing tetavano.

Made good yards after contact on his carrys.
Edit. Looking at his NRL stats, he looked to be really finding his feet at that level before lockdown, his last 3 games he averaged
These stats and the fact he’s getting into the Fijian National side make him a really promising signing.
People are reading too much into his limited NRL appearances. Kylie Leuluai had only made a handful of NRL appearances and he went ok.
There are a couple of reasons why he might of only played 5 first team games. He was a union player who made a late switch to league, the fact he was still learning the game and probably rusty in a few areas will have counted against him in selection.
Also Manly wanted to sign him but his visa was taking too long and the deal fell through which left him stuck at the Warriors competing for a place in a position they have a lot of depth in.

We had Greenwood on loan and never played him and we didn't try to bring him back after lockdown. Maybe the coaching weren't that impressed

If memory serves he hadn't played in a while so maybe they wanted to get his fitness up or train him up to use him as a prop. I remember sinfield saying they were impressed and they only sent him back because of covid. Who knows, maybe our priorities changed or he wanted too much money but again they used the term 'middle' rather than prop and whilst he would have undoubtedly been more expensive, with his size and experience you would imagine he'd make our 17 every week.

| I hate the term Middle, says nothing about the player other than where he stands on the field...
