Quote: Sal Paradise "Its too big a job to turn it around in one year - they know the squad is weak and they have missed out on the opportunity to strengthen it. With a new coach and Sinfield concentrating on recruitment hopefully they can strategically target the players they need to be a top 4 side again. Add to the the development of 3/4 youngsters over 2019 then perhaps things will look a whole lot better.'"

Also the Qualifiers have been a massive distraction for the new regime, one of the reasons I'm glad its going, had we been safe like say Hull, I think we could have seen a bit more movement and had been in a stronger position to recruit. With the structure change for next season, I'll be quite happy for a mid season finish but with an upturn in performances hopefully by 2020 some of the youngsters will have progressed (Newman, Smith, Oledksi) into first teasers and we will have a better balanced squad with settled halves.

Quote: Gotcha "Ablett has a two year deal, I have already said that the other week, that will be announced. He wasn't getting one under McDermott and was leaving, but Delaney was getting one. Things changed when Sinfield came in, who saw Ablett as a priority, and apparently wasn't going further at the time with Delaney. If Delaney signs a new one it is because the club did not get the replacement they wanted, that is the only situation I can see Delaney getting a new deal.'"

Surely if Delaney is offered a deal it will be a vasty reduced one, probably why he hasn't signed it yet!

I'm OK with Ablett signing I think he has the most to offer from the 3 that need/people want shipping out, he has just had a bit of a bad run this year with injuries.

Was it just confirmed that Jimmy Keinhorst will be leaving Leeds Rhinos, or was his new club being Hull KR confirmed too?

Thanks!

No way we should be giving Ablett 2 years. If anything should be year by year from here. We have far too many back rows in their 30's who are injury prone and indeed on the treatment table for large chunks of the season.

In an ideal world all three of ablett, Delaney and jjb wouldn't be lining up for us next season but in reality it depends what our other options are. If we can't get anyone of better quality then they have to stay.

The question about why we can't get anything better than injury prone 30+'s is a different question and one the back room team need to sort out.

That said, I do expect some signings over the next couple of weeks to be announced and I expect at least one of the three above to leave and all of them by 2020.

I agree, but with a new coach in Furner coming it if he wants rid of the old guys over the next year and build his own team to find he is stuck with a load of old crocks will not make his job easy. Can only assume he has been consulted on this but seems odd from my POV

Why keep the same old players who this year have spent most of the time on the treatment table and also put us into the bottom four. We need a cull and it needs to start now. Unfortunately we all know that there wont be a cull. Rumours are rife that JJB has to make a decision on a one year deal, (I think he is hoping for a two year deal), I agree if he was looking to retire then it would already be around in the press. Delaney hasn't he now played for us for 9 years, so wouldn't a one year deal give him a testimonial, if this is the case then wont leave. Ablett he is another if he was to be leaving it would be all over the place, and at the last home game in the Legends suite there was not a mention about him going to Aus, and he would be leaving Leeds. Therefore it seems that the ambition of the Rhinos for next season wont be aiming for atop four place, again looking at mid table and sad to say the best we can hope for a cream of the crap.
