| We lost the game due to missed tackles from Moon, Ferris and Handley. The latter has done well on attack in recent games but still has question marks on his defense.
Both half backs have gone off the boil with Moon not looking sharp at all.

Letting them run from the halfway line to 10m out in two tackles, to set themselves up for a drop goal, is pathetic

| It used to be that we could have Sinfield, McGuire and Burrow all in the pocket to set up for a drop goal.
Our current squad have kicked a grand total of 2 drop goals for the Rhinos between them (one for Sutcliffe and one for Moon). You can't imagine anyone in the squad being able to kick a 30+ yard DG at the moment (or even one from 20 yards out)

| McGuire in your side tonight you win probably same last week? I like Leeds as a team but the pack looks weak in no Singleton and Galloway not replaced. Bench looked under powered? Time for bit of brass to be spent on real quality. Leeds are still top side and still make Old Trafford but on paper they are overvachieving for me .Same last season but the trophy says otherwise

Agree with your first sentence! Myler and MCGuire would have been amazing HB combo. Moon has never been a decent half back. He comes up with the odd dangerous run but he plays as an individual, as he does at centre.

| I think the problem is we try to get too close to the line before going for a drop goal, if that makes sense.
Last night we played the ball on the Hull line so by the time it's passed back they are out and on top of the kicker. We need to be playing the ball on the 10 metre line then going back to Myler, or whoever, who will have much more space and time to try the drop goal.
I agree we need a bit more in the halves, but put Garbutt, and Singleton in for Ferres and Delaney and we get much more go forward for them to play on the back of.

| Moon can work well at 6 with the right partner. with the wrong one he'll look awful for the most part. I actually think he should go back to what he does best and just focus on running. There's no point in him trying to develop game management etc now, and as you say he plays basically the same at 4 or 6. Andrew Johns recommends that any halfback out of form should think like they're a second row, and concentrate on hard defence and running, as doing those basics lets them play themselves back into form, and it seems spot on to me, especially for a player like Moon.
I don't think anyone can tell where we're at until we get some props back, but there seems to be a mindset issue. Its one thing to try to defend a narrow lead 2 minutes out, but we seem to consistently go into our collective shell way too early. That just invites the opposition back into the game, as even defence becomes more conservative - trying not to complete tackles rather than defending aggressively leads to massive yardage by the opposition.
On the plus side, Myler is generally looking the part. He needs to take control at the pointy end of games though - letting an offloading prop try to even partially run things is a recipe for disaster. He does need more support from the other spine players though - Parcell in this team could do more in terms of setting the team up. Walker would make a difference as well.

| Frustrating to lose back to back games in a similar manner, especially against two of our rivals for top 4 but that is the games and situations where the likes of Myler, who has been generally good so far will be ultimately judged. To fully win me over he has to prove he can step up on big stages which he didn't for wire and hasn't as yet in big games for us. That said, as someone else mentioned we don't have the luxury of 3 options now like a few years back and the game management of Sinfield too which is key.something to work on.
The next 6 games all look very winable, so hopefully we can get on a roll from here.

| Can’t complain about the result, not much between both teams but hull just about deserved it. We probably used up too much energy in the first half. Golding was rock solid at full back, handley looked a bit frail. Hall justified his world class wingers tag.
Probably singleton would have made a difference last night. Unfortunately our atacking plays seemed very slow and predictable . At the moment saints and Wigan seem to be the best teams, obviously that can change. On the plus side hull managed to field the strongest team available and just scraped a win. We however are still well down on numbers. Tonight’s match at Wigan may indicate how cas are progressing.
