| Sounds like Achurch is ripping it up again. Even Karl Harrison's noticed.

| Have we genuinely been as bad as its sounded on the radio? Seems like every attacking set had ended with us turning the ball over cheaply normally near their line, and the defense sounds equally bad.

That's what it sounds to me, but it's been the same all season, coaching has to be to blame for that.

| Without having seen the game and only listening to Woods and Noble, it sounded a worse performance than last week. Anyone play particularly badly, or well?

Haha but we are talking about the 2016 version of those players. You are seriously arrogant if you think we will, have it easy in the middle 8's

| Meh, you're not going to win anything if you're conceding 30-40 points a game, no matter how good, or bad your attack is. We're desperate for some steel in the middle of our defence.
Having said that, I'm not that bothered with how the seasons panned out. Yes, it' disappointing, but given the injuries, quad turnover and pre-season disruption I can't say I'm all that surprised.
Time to start planning for next season.

| Yeah, defense is definately the bigger problem, in most games this year we've scored enough points to win. It all stems from our trouble controlling the ruck (so do the penalties, the ones that aren't from lazy high shots).
It annoys me because a good 70% of defense is down to effort, and from a lot of the players, and worryingly the senior ones more than youngsters or fringe players, there has been a lack of effort and pride in the shirt. To be fair some like Cuthbo, Hardaker and JJB have tried too hard which is also a problem, whether with the other players it is some complex your or in the case of new arrivals not buying into the club I don't know.
What I do know is something has to change, now in this game you can change a lot of players, or one man the coach, and unfortuantely for Mac, we all know which route teams go down first.

Not dropping the ball so often would be a start, nothing the coach can do about that.

Not disagreeing, but changing coach is generally the first option, and in many cases it does work. I am in no way trying to ignore some of the dire individual performances and mistakes we've seen this year.

Usually, I'd probably want the coach out, but given the success McDermott has had, and the problems he's been faced with in terms of his squad, and training facilities then he deserves the full season to try, and turn this around, especially since the since is done now.

Perhaps GH could break out one of his kick up the backside speeches? Much like the when he questioned if the previous squad had run its course? I'll change my statement from something has to change, to something different has to be done.

Not sure how giving McDermott the remainder of the season is going to help. The season is dead and buried. If he is going to have a successor then surely better now so that the new coach has chance to assess, develop and work with what he has for the start of the 2017 season.
By keeping McDermott at the helm, who has obviously ran out of ideas, the season is just going to limp on into a possible poor showing in the middle 8's ...to the point that even that could - the gods forbid - turn turtle
