Sal, AG and the rest might as well give up now.... you're already nailed on for "Moron Of The Year 2016".

| Yesterday's game was a poor display. But think Mcdermotts post match interview said it all about how we approached the game, not counting it as a part of ore season. I agree Galloway was poor yesterday but I am sure he will be ok come the season. I actually think we will be fine in the pack, another SR would improve us but other than that I think we looked ok. Faloon looked like a Aussies signing of old off injured!! When he was on looked to be a downgrade on last year but time will tell, only saw him for a bit. For me mags isn't captain material gets too easily wound up.
It's sinfield we will miss sure sutcliffe can do a decent job but will take some time to settle in.

Hang on, didn't he just win the Harry Sunderland a few weeks ago to close his best season in years?
I'm off for a beer, this place is crazy and you've somehow gone even more mental during this off season

Nope we just try and have a proper discussion without it being cluttered by your nonsensical, uneducated, Rod Studd style OTT Look At Me postings.

I take it that you are on the side of the island that speaks Greek?

I agree Sinny is a huge miss but as I said about peacock, you don't replace these players you have to adapt.
Is mags the right captain? for a year or two yes I think he is. He knows the ethos of the club, is old enough to have seen it all and will be on the pitch every week. I know some are calling for ward and I see why but he is still young and injury prone.
If ward is a natural leader he will lead without the armband anyway. This way he doesn't have the pressure of actually being the 'captain'. Personally I think mcd has made the best call he could both for now and the longer term.

There is plenty players in this club who know the so called "ethos". There are plenty of players in this club who have been winners. There are plenty of players in this club who show leadership abilities.
Never in his time has McGuire shown he is captain material. A lot depends on him next year as first choice half, having to guide the team around, another facet he has never shown he is capable of.
The last thing McGuire needs is the burden of captaincy. It is a completely wrong decision IMO from the club, and something that will effect us. Time at club, does not constitute leadership ability.

| Leeds look like a strong squad to me - I expect them to finish top two.
They will miss Sinfield a lot more than Peacock - it is time for the new leaders to stand up and be counted. One thing is for sure it will not be for the lack of effort if this side doesn't win anything next season.
This should be the most intriguing season since 2004 - I for one am really looking forward to it. For me Galloway will be a good signing - not so sure about Falloon but time will tell.
Much is said about Sinfield's 40/20 against Saints but if it hadn't have been for McGuire's genius at Huddersfield things would have been very different. Nobody tries harder than Danny and no one and I include Sinfield can read a game better than him. 200+ tries tells you he is often in the right place at the right time - he has big boots to fill but he has a big skills to do it.

Who should be the captain then? - please don't say Zac or Stevie Ward?

Exactly! "A few weeks ago" !!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that even further in the past than "yestreday"?
(Hope you enjoyed your beer...it's the one thing I'm missing out here. No 'proper' beers to be had.)

Very true and Sal will probably run you close to be fair but you're off to a flier with those two pearlers about McGuire & Galloway.
Hope you can keep it up for the whole season, although you usually do TBH.

Indeed! And English...and Russian (in equal measures). We have actually been to the Turkish side too dead easy now. The Greek and Turkish cypriot leaders have just done their first joint xmas address (in each others languages).....which is quite funny really in that neither religion here recognises xmas, especially on the 25th Dec. All the shops shut though of course....but no Sunday trading laws to shut shops early today. Loving it here (apart from the beer limitations )

...or Burrows
Stevie Ward for me....and Burrow more than McGuire - although he is unlikely to be a regular starter. As others have said, McGuire is a great player but he just is not captain material. He just doesn't have the calming temperament (on his self never mind the rest of the team)
