| Brierley's agent on live radio has basically said (and he is right) clubs won't hold players back from achieving their potential.
Leigh will not make a lad who could be the England half back in 12 months pi$$ around in the championship next season. Logic.

| Well I still think part of what Frosties has said is correct. Brierley will be a Leeds player next season. I just think what happens with Leigh is irrelevant.

If a player has made up his mind that he wants to move then the clubs can't do much about it.

| If the proposed Brierley deal was made before the news of Sinfield's move to Union it would have been with a plan to replace McGuire. So the question begs that with a return to form for Danny but now no Sinny do Leeds still want the deal as our needs have changed?

They can do plenty about it, if they're prepared to dig their heels in and take the financial hit that comes from it. Just look at how Salford treated Puletua this year for example.
Leigh are under no compulsion to sell Brierley. They're not short of cash, and another season in the Championship won't kill them financially. They can hold out for what they believe to be the market value and start a bidding war in the process. I've no doubt that Wigan and Saints would both be interested in an English half-back coming onto the market who would be an improvement on what they've currently got.
If they get promoted this year - and it's not as long a shot as some people seem to think it is, in a one-off game anything can happen - they would be mad to sell unless someone makes them a ridiculous offer. Their fans would go absolutely potty if they sold their best chance of staying up and it would make life very difficult for Derek Beaumont.

| Don't think Wigan would be interested in a half back to be honest, Way down on the priority list.
Looking forward to watching Leigh v Wakey tomorrow, Question is...... Will Leigh turn up, If Wakey turn you over at your place tomorrow i think it's safe to say your Sl dream is over for another year. The significance of you gaining home advantage in the 1m pound game is huge and tomorrow's game has a huge significance on that. Should be a cracker.

The debarcle at Salford isn't a great support to your argument.

| Quote: ThePrinter "Still can't see it. It has too many salary cap implications for it to be left hanging in the air until October. Looking for a new hooker, what can we afford on the SC....well depends because they're might be a Brierly sized hole on the wage list if Leigh get promoted. Aiton took the Catalans offer for presumably more money and here we are not knowing if Brierly is even going to be on our salary cap next year.
Not how GH works I'm afraid despite what rumours are knocking about or if Brierly has strangely decided to tell some random people his contract situation (has he told his milkman, dentist and the girl behind the checkout at his local supermarket too). Ellis not ending up at Leeds and Cuthbertson, Garbutt and Galloway all ending at Headingley even though no one heard a peep on that show that people don't really know in inner workings as much as they like to boast.'"
I presume that's a sly dig at me. i'll repeat myself, again, so you understand. ellis had 4/5 clubs to choose from. he was all set to choose leeds when hull, who weren't in the picture, came in late with a huge mega bucks offer that changed his mind. at the time I spoke to his dad, who I have known for years, leeds was his preferred destination.
lots of deals are obviously kept secret but some leak out. matt diskins dad is a site manger, his assistant is a relation of danny houghtons. I worked on the site and that's how I knew leeds had approached Houghton. just luck of being in the right place.
three of my work mates are ex SL players, one leeds, one hull/cas/saints and one wakefield and its a small world. players talk
satisfied?

So a couple of pages ago Ellis' dad said his son WAS signing for Leeds....now it's just that Leeds was his preferred destination.
I think we all know people and hear stories, just know not to trust their accuracy 100% as their's always two sides, the player involved whether it be Ellis or Brierley and the club's side of things.

Don't spit your dummy out just because someone isn't in awe because you know a RL players dad or some ex players.

| My cousin was sat with Sam Burgess when he told those present he was signing for Manly. He was talking about looking forward to life on the Northern Beaches. Sam goes to a movie set as a guest and the rest is history.
I think most of the people on here pass stuff on in good faith. Why give people $hit if it doesn't happen.
