| As has been said already....optimistic exciting times ahead.
Credit to all involved. Next year's pack is looking healthy with a nice blend of formidable and skilfull. Cuthbo to LF of course.
Again all those with supposed entreated 'inside info' have been broadsided !!!
Roll on the signing of Jonathan Thurston (or [ithat other slightly better known[/i Cameron Smith)

| Saints have signed a guy called Dominique Peyroux from the NZ Warriors.
Those of you on here who follow the NRL closely, is it a good signing for them or a bit of a 'meh' addition?

He's not somebody I've seen too much of.

Without a doubt!
I reckon there are a couple of guys on the other side of the Pennines who will be feeling the wrath of Big Red's mongrel attitude.
Certainly looked impressive in that vid, and having two ball handling props will suit our style of play down to the ground

| Well Super League is four and a half light years behind the NRL so Galloway should do well over here..

If the NRL was so bleeding wonderful they'd have found an outlet for the talents of a player like Cuthbertson.

| After the Ben Cross fiasco I'd hope GH would actually do homework on NRL forwards before signing them. Galloway is a solid pro. What Leeds need is a solid pack, that can hold its own and make the space for our outside backs, which is where the real strength lies.

Agree with that and, with the outstanding backline all signed up, and now with what appears to be 4 solid props for next season in Cuthbertson, Garbutt, Singleton & Galloway we look in excellent shape for the next few years.
The props in particular are much stronger than I thought we'd be after losing Peacock & Leuluai.
The backrow looks ok with the way Ablett & Delaney are currently playing plus of course the excellent Ward and some backup from the likes of Achurch, Keinhorst etc.
The three quarters are obviously excellent and nailed down.
The halves, even without Sinfield, will be fine. Though I do think we'll need a replacement for McGuire in a couple of years but I think there's life in him yet!
The only issue may be hooker. If Aiton stays and continues to perform as he is then I'll be very happy. If he leaves (either next season or the year after) then obviously we need a quality replacement. I think Diskin, Buderus, Lunt & the 2015 Aiton have proved what a benefit having a quality hooker can be. I wouldn't want to see us try and struggle through with Burrow and Robbie Ward.

| Agree. Hooker is probably the most underrated position on the field. Just watching the Cats highlights some of Aiton's movement and passing out of acting half is sublime. Looking at the squad I'd say if Aiton does leave we'll need to sign someone else because Burrow's general play from acting half is poor by comparison.

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

And therein lies the difference - Cuthbertson looks a world beater in SL but a non-entity in NRL.
The NRL is very formuleric especially in the forwards, Cuthbertson's style is not suited to a pattern of play that is so regimented and planned. There are many similarities between the American football and the NRL in that respect. If you watch the NRL you know 90% of the time what is going to happen in the first four plays. Players like Cuthbertson mess with the play book.

| On the other side of the coin you have Mike Cooper. Looked nothing more than a steady squad prop at SL who would've been well down people's list as to who could do well in the NRL from this competition but he has done well for himself over there.

| To be fair Cuthbertson has over 100 NRL appearances and by the time he was leaving Newcastle a lot of their fans were gutted. He’d get a gig back in the NRL tomorrow if he wanted but he seems to be in the form of his life at Leeds so why would he leave?
