| Quote: Gotcha "I would think the BBC see it no different to you. Have you seen what the alternatives are on Friday night TV? I would not be surprised at all to see a bigger TV audience watching a game on Friday evening, rather than Saturday afternoon, whether it is us V Saints, or Hull KR v Warrington. Hence why they are considering the better tie for the Friday evening, to see if they can get even more of an audience.'"
Yes I can see why they've tried it. When the key dates of the season were announced the semis were always booked for the 31st (Friday) and 1st (Saturday) so it's not something they've come up with last minute. Don't think they'll have even known then that the Community Shield football would be on the Sunday at the time they decided to do a Friday instead.
Having a CC semi on a Friday night might be a little different but Friday night RL is commonplace usually so shouldn't feel too weird. Probably because we are either at the rugby or watching rugby on Sky people forget that Friday night tv around that time is usually dire. IF they splash it across the stations in the build up and really promote it well they could do well viewer wise especially given the teams playing.
Probably will hit the attendance but that'll be of secondary concern to the tv people (yes unfortunately all sports have to cater to them) and it's not like the semis have been doing that impressive recently anyway for numbers.

True but like ANY sport you have to try accommodate the tv people
Quote: Andy Gilder "Can't see the logic either of playing Hull KR - Warrington in a stadium that holds 19k. Going to be two-thirds full at best.'"
Perhaps the only one available that's in the middle of the two. I know the football season doesn't kick off until the following week but the likes of the Hudds, Doncaster may have friendlies lined up for that date.

Latest news, we're going to be selling South Stand tickets. This is the terrace down the side. Whether we've got it exclusively or it's being split I don't know as Saints haven't releaed details yet

Just noticed the new article on our Website.
Be interesting to see if we've got that exclusively?! How many does that particular stand hold? Can't seem to find any information on Warrington's Website.

Not sure mate. I know it holds more now they've filled the corner in.
5-6000 maybe. Looks like it's half the height of our South Stand

I think the been have recently become converted to Friday night sport. Some of the FA cup last year and numerous 6 nations games were in that slot so why not try an exciting game too.

| Well I won't be off now Friday night to Warrington is almost impossible for me without having half a day. Suspect I'm not the only one. Why do we nearly always have to go to Lancashire for semis. At least Salford would have been better. Well done RFL

There was an argument in 2003 after 36 years of non-Yorkshire cross-county semis but not now.

| Rovers fan here, sorry if it's been brought up previously in the thread, just wondering how much your South stand holds. Looks like we've been allocated tickets in that stand.

Have you forgotten about the numerous games at Huddersfield on the trot?

IIRC it's approx 8,000 capacity.
