Except the question posed was which HB would you trust to come up trumps. Not which all time great, acknowledged by a number elsewhere on here to be past his prime & responsible for a number of poor performances himslef over the last couple of seasons. If I wanted a HB to come up with a piece of magic now it would be Brough or Brown. If I wanted a player, not necessarily a HB, to control a game over 80 minutes it would still be Sinfield.

Simple answer, in a knockout game, where it really matters, (i.e. Saturday coming) Kevin Sinfield. Just watch, it'll all become clear.

As a Salford fan over the last few seasons I've seen my team dirty Salford target Sinfield and he's come out on top every time.
Over the same period I've seen my team dirty Salford target Brough and the only time he's influenced the game was on Friday when up against a twenty year old scrum half and a prop playing stand off.
So for me it's Sinfield.

brough is a flat track bully who will tear sides apart with ease if he's given the freedom of playing in a dinner suit

sadly he has had little opportunity of proving his undoubted talent in showcase finals or test matches to warrant conversations like this and be compared to players like sir kev

brough will rightly be remembered as a very talented player and one who should have played for one of the top sides that have regularly delivered success,but sadly for him is that his disruptive influence have made the top clubs stay well clear,this says all you need to know about him sadly

In the cup game, it will only matter who is the better team. I can promise you that if one side's forwards get well on top, it will be their half back that has the greater influence on the match. Regardless of who Leeds pick there.
