| Quote: Old Feller "At the risk of being called a "believist", t or any number of other derogatory terms isn't the essence of being a fan that you support your club through thick & thin.
Witholding your support & money is it seems to me the start of a downward spiral that can end up with the club you allegedly support being relegated or going out of business.
Is that what people on here really want?'"
Whoa don't go down that route. They'll lynch you for it

"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection."

| Haven't bought a ST since 2004. Found turning 18 and Friday nights didnt mix well with availability to attend rugby matches (only attended 6 that year). Since then I get to 7/8 home games a year so pointless buying a ST, my attendance is based on if I'm free and not the opposition btw. Watched what was going to be a weakened team play Bradford but missed Wigan.
Btw I don't think all is good, or that we are improving. But that is something I'm looking at when I watch games. Where can we improve? Which young players will improve us moving along? Who isn't good enough? What are doing well in games, what are we doing bad? It's a continuous evolving journey properly supporting a team, not one you just think "I'll pick it up again in 4/5 years time when I hear they get good again".

| I held a season ticket between 1990 and 2006, and stopped due to moving to the SW. But even if I did still live close to Leeds, I have to say that I'm not sure whether or not I'd remain a season ticket holder.
The quality of the product simply isn't there on a regular basis - I'd probably pick and choose matches depending on the opposition. I admit that part of this is about supporting a winning team. After intense high-quality games against the top teams, I would rather take a 2005-style flat-track win by 50 points over the likes of Wakefield rather than watching a close, error-strewn loss against the same club. While one-sided games get boring after a while, the old days of regular cricket scores at least showcased the skill of our players and some fast-flowing rugby.
The lack of new investment in the team would definitely put me off after the way the 2014 season has ended. The club can't reveal all their plans for the year ahead but to an extent it has always been the case that new signings put bums on seats.
Not everyone has to subscribe to this view though. Indeed, enjoying a drink and fish & chips before the game with friends and family was worthwhile in itself, even if the product served up on the field was not always great - the disappointments of the early-mid 90s were still much worse than what we have to put up with now. The only difference is that our expectations are much higher, and that is difficult for the club to manage - as Bradford similarly struggled to retain support after the glory days came to an end.

| I had a season ticket at various stages since the 70s and only stopped when I moved here in 2010 and I would still get one now if I was back home.Because being retired now and time on my hands it would be something to do win or lose.I do agree with a lot of what has been said about recruitment though.I wonder what we will be saying on this subject this time next year?

| Haven't had a season ticket since 2006, having had one pretty much continually from 1983 up to that point.
Why? The lack of value it offers is one factor - two free games out of 13 IMO doesn't represent value, given that you're more than likely going to miss one or two games a season with other commitments anyway.
Travel was another, having moved to work in Shipley and then Pudsey I got fed up of having to go straight from work to games on a Friday night because I didn't have time to get home then back out again.
Thirdly, I just got a bit bored with the standard of entertainment on offer. 2004 was probably the zenith of my time watching Leeds. 2005 and 2006 in comparison were disappointments. So I started picking maybe three or four home games a year to go to, normally ones that weren't on Sky and have stuck with that ever since.
Do I care whether the team wins or loses? Yes. Do I feel I have some unwritten commitment that I have to keep putting my hand in my pocket every week just because I'm a Leeds fan? Do I heck.
If that somehow makes me "less" of a fan, despite spending a couple of decades following the team through some hideous performances and mediocre playing squads, then so be it.

| I have a season ticket. It used to be something my son and I shared, then he grew up and went off to uni. Now it's something that a colleague and I do, enjoying a meal somewhere before the game.
In no way is my money invested in the result or, for that matter, the performance. Do I want them to win; yes. Do I get annoyed if it's a bad game or they lose; a little.
Does that make me a sheep or such; no, it makes me a grown up exercising free choice about how I spend my disposable income, just like Andy is doing the same. Both he and I, having made our respective choices, are far superior though to anybody who sits at home railing against the club and the team whilst staring at the wall thinking they've shown Hetherington a thing or two.

| I've rarely ever been a season ticket holder because first and foremost I'm not a one-eyed, one-club supporter. I'm a supporter of the game with a history of watching lots of other clubs/teams playing at sundry levels. Obviously, this provides me with a more in-depth and meaningful perspective on the game as a whole whilst rendering me superior to almost everyone else.
That's not to say I've never purchased a season ticket. I'd say I've probably been a season ticket holder at Leeds perhaps half a dozen times on and off. I was particularly keen around the mid-80's period when real stars of the game like Grothe, ET, Currie, Lyons, Jackson, Tunks et al were wearing the Loiners shirt. I was also a member of the Loiners Guild for several years on top of that which cost a couple of quid a week. I gradually lost interest when Harry Jepson or one of the players (Heron and Maskill spring to mind) always seemed to collect the monthly £1000 prize money. I was also a season ticket holder at Bramley for several seasons in the 1970's.
My appearances at SL fixtures these days are a rarity. The rendering of regular season fixtures as meaningless under the licensed 14 club, top 8 play-off format turned me right off. I hope the new format might restore my enthusiasm for attending SL games again but it's a wait and see proposition. The last six years have been dreadful and I'll take a lot more convincing yet.

We all never knew you felt like this about the current SL product....why oh why have you not mentioned this before now???
P.S. We all know really it's because you're a tight ar*e as to why you don't spend money on things......how's your latest haggling regarding you getting cheap tv deals going?

| I'm a season ticket holder, and will remain so for the forseeable. And that has nothing to do with the rubbish that GH comes out with every year, or the decline in standards on the pitch. Simply put, me and a group of friends get together every Friday, have a few drinks, a good natter, and then go to the game. I buy a season ticket for the enjoyment of the event, and for convenience.

Personally would rather have Patrick anyway.'"
From what i can gather is that the Pies either hold his SL reg or have an agreement in place (ala Harris) that they get first dibs on him but should they get Patrick he would become available to other Clubs.
That's the only thing that makes sense but like i said its very much a rumour i've seen.

| No ST for me this year its much easier to pick and choose the games plus the Mrs has a new job which includes night shifts so i'll be looking after my youngest anyway.
Also given how many times we are on SKY i wont miss many games anyway.

| For me there's not much better than finishing work on a Friday, a 15 minute walk up to Headingley, a few beers, something to eat, stand with good mates from the old place, watch a game that I love, enjoy the skills, laugh at the rubbish, a couple more beers & home on the last train.

I just don't get Mossop. I have asked others & never received a reply, what has he ever done to warrant any reputation? He once came in third man to a brawl with Saints & belted their smallest forward from behind then backed off. That's it. His unfortunate injury in Aus saved him from obscurity.

| I have a season ticket it is a family thing - my father took me and I took my kids, my kids are now away, one in Australia, one in Glasgow and my daughter has other social commitments. My parents still go so its a good opportunity to see them in a social context. It is much easier to have a ST where we all sit together than try and find 4 seats together for every game. If the ticket were purely a rugby watching thing I would not buy one.
