Some of the others have points in the bag , Briscoe is not up to it i have been telling you for months , The whole performance was woefull though as it has been for the last two thirds of the season .

Quote: Maverick Rhino "Back to Briscoe.

As individual errors go, I think Briscoe enters a Top 3 of shame, accompanied by John Gallaghers dropped bomb at Hull and Marcus Bai's in goal pass.'"

Remember those 2 well, its a shame Biscoes wasnt against us too icon_wink.gif

TBF regarding Briscoe. The guy he replaced, BJB, came up with blunders in the big games. The 2012 GF he dropped a bomb for Wire's first try. In the 2011 CC final he had a chance to take on the much slower Pat Richards and went for a chip over instead. And in the 2011 GF he messed up several times in the 2nd half but we time for the team to bounce back in those two GF example. What really did for Briscoe was that it was done with no time left on the clock.

Thank the gods he has got the whole close season to (hopefully) get over it. He IS a better error prone but you're right.....BJB was/is worse for giving the jitters in defence. He did seem to have a better understanding outside Watkins on attack though

Looked that way to me too....

Tom should have caught the ball and there's no excuses there but Catalan were clearly offside, both in not standing square at the PTB and Williams And Henderson not being back the ten. As someone previously wrote when we played the Giants they checked the play from our line to theirs and ruled the try out for what was a pretty iffy obstruction which Brough had given up as game lost. Here in such a crucial point of the game, just like the Giants game we check if he's grounded the ball and forget the offside. If you freeze the PTB it's a clear offside and a penalty to Leeds

All the players got back the 10 for me. They may have stepped out early but it was very very marginal. Would be hard for the vr to rule on it

In terms of blame I feel the following
Hall - made one bad mistake, and made one play which was incorrectly called forward
McGuire - gave away a needless penalty when leeds were far from their line, and the forwards were hitting hard in defense. Catalans looked beaten there, and though they could have pulled something out, the pen gave them a massive piggy back
Sinfield should have carried the ball, or left it to someone who could have, like Briscoe
Briscoe Web should have caught a simple pass. Big blunder, but not even close to Bai. Briscoe has looked poor the last few months, but was strong early in the season, mirrors the rest of the team really, not a big surprise really

Regarding the Hall dropped high bomb, even if it'd been called backwards, Hardaker goes for the loose ball and knocks on so still would've been Catalans ball in the end.

Briscoe is a liability I am no stat man but I would bet he has let past more points than he has scored this season
If you compare him to Hall or Ben Jones Bishop he would not even come third in that list.
I would say he is the most inept winger Leeds have had in the last ten years.
Look at Stevie Ward he had bad injuries and then lost confidence so he has been dropped out of sight but Briscoe has had one good game at KR at start of season then been a passenger ever since
Personally I would rather see his younger brother given a run next season than see him look disinterested all season
