I think he went to square up to him but it went horribly wrong. It happens a lot, usually on he fringes of an out-and-out brawl. If Dorn had led in with his head they'd have both made contact and had a few verbals.

If Sinfield had meant to do a proper headbutt, he'd have flicked his head forward then brought it back. He didn't he went forward with his head then kept pushing.

One thing I've always pointed out to casual fans when watching a Leeds game is Sinfield's self control. There are times when he has a look on his face like he's going to explode, then he takes a breath and you can see him control it. Always had so much respect for him for that, it's more than I could do in similar situations (and more than probably any other SL player). You can see it in his post-match interviews after bad defeats too, very professional.

Needless to say it's massively out of character for him and as a consequence I don't feel any animosity towards him after last night. I can imagine how much sitting in the changing rooms while his team lost the lead would hurt a player like Sinfield. I actually feel a bit sorry for him.

This. Looked to me as if he went to meet Dorn's head for a bit of a tussle with the horns (again buying extra seconds) and Dorn pulled out and left Kev pushing his forehead forward.

1-2 game ban after EGP unless JP is representing him.

Speaking as a Cas fan I'd say it was something and nothing...you see far worse most weeks and Sinfield has never been 'that' type of player...neither is Dorn for that matter. Similarly much as it would be useful for us to see him suspended (ideally until after the weekend of the 10th August ) his record should mean that he doesn't get too much.

Interesting thing is that it is so out of character for him...do you thing the pressure of how much he seems to be having to carry the Leeds team at the moment? This season is the worst from the other Leeds play makers for a long, long time (not having a dig, just how it seems with McGuire, etc) so maybe the workload is getting to him.

What else are you expecting?

How do you head butt someone without any intent ?
He head butted Dorn, referee the made correct decision in sending him off.
He will get banned for number of matches Sinfield himself & Hetherington tell RFL to ban him for.

It looked like both players moved head forward for a rub. Dorn pulled back , Sinfield didn't.
I also think Sinfield was pumped up and didn't control his aggression because the rest of the pack showed little or no aggression in the second half .

Red card and one game ban sounds appropriate.
