| Quote: Juan Cornetto "Yes IMO BJB has more class & pace and on form (which he is at the moment) he gets my vote. Hardaker is a very strong player but his whole game is based on physique. He is greedy, not the best passer or kicker and is often in the wrong position in defence. IMO he is a natural winger and I think he will make a very good back rower in the future. That said he has made important contribution for Leeds at FB and it shows the strength of the squad that we have them both.
With regard to Burrow, he was our starting 9 and played well both at 9 and later in games at 7. I would like the same tactic to continue but with Sinfield doing the swop. Aiton will get his chance and I hope he does well as we are bound to get injuries and out of form in tha halves when Burrow could start at 7. But I just have a feeling that Mags has got one more good year in him.
But BM may well choose 2 hookers and you never know I might just be shouting to sack the coach
I think Bjb has Class ,Pace and a Great elusive step but for me ZH is a better all round FB and doesn't have as many brain farts as Bjb does have both reading kicks or poor defence.
In fact one of the reasons i questioned the Briscoe signing was how good i think Bjb is on the wing with the money going on the pack but now Briscoe is here Bjb becomes 2nd choice the Wing and at FB.
Wrt RB imo he should start at 7 or be on the bench as a 9 and whilst injuries permitting i don't doubt that Mags has at the very least 1 good season left in him its time to start the process of intergrating Suttcliffe more maybe even at 13 whilst Sinfield only has to be breathing to play 6 but also making the likes of Mags earn their place more on form than sentiment.

Out of the 19 for me Bjb and Ward miss out but i wouldn't be surprised to see Sutcliffe miss out with Bjb on the bench.
Ward should imo get a couple of u19/Hunslet games under his belt he's been out a long time so i wouldn't want to throw him straight back into SL games.

| Not surprised tbh FB then that should make it between Sutty and Bjb for a bench spot imo.

If Briscoe gets the nod ahead of BJB. cant see the point of BJB on bench.

| I agree if Briscoe gets the nod which I'm sure he will then BJB will miss out along with Ward. Not too many choices other than JJB and Kirke aside who could come into the 19 anyway.

| Not surprised that Achurch didn't make the 19 if Ward was in contention. Clarkson deservedly ahead of him from what I saw of both in pre-season games.
With Sutcliffe looking like he could be used in a back row position that leaves Achurch well down the pecking order when all are fit.
Ablett
Delaney
JJB
Clarkson
Ward
Sutcliffe
Bailey/Singleton possibly starting games at loose.

Spot on. As well as being better at reading the kicks, ZH is also more adept at catching them.

Just going by the Coach insisting that he will rotate the back line and given how he utilised his bench v the Broncos albeit during a friendly game.

Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif I'm not cynical, just well informed:Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif |

| The only reason I would put BJB on the bench is if he comes on at fullback and Zak moves in to the halves, however there is no real need for this due to the number of half backs in the team.

| It wouldn't be the first time that McDermott has selected an outside back to under-utilise a bench spot.
Grouping together Jones-Bishop, Watkins, Smith, Keinhorst and Minns it's happened on seventeen occasions from one hundred and six games.

Judging from the recent involvement of that group (or, in some cases, the lack of it) it'd seem to be a tactic McD used more readily early in his tenure than he does now.

Agreed.
Hardaker would be wasted on the wing as that Spanish geezer suggests.
BJB gives me the colly wobbles on defence; Hardaker is the best defensive FB the club has had for a long time complemented by a fair lick of pace and strength in attack. ...
A good enough list of attributes to best fulfill the FB role IMO.
It is a pity about BJB because I think he had a pretty good understanding with Watkins out on the wing: he is a pretty good reserve outer back....if Leeds can keep him sweet.
