If there was no club call the highest placed winner would play the lowest ranked winner, so by picking the lowest ranked team you aren't exactly saying you want to play them or think they are easy you are simply picking them because that's who you would play if there was no club call, so to a certain extent you negate any negative psychology involved.

The psychology of selecting the higher placed team is all wrong and warrington could end up with an enormous amount of egg on those faces.

We've ended Warrington's season twice in the playoffs these last two years. We've earned the respect and fear of teams with our playoff football. Huddersfield haven't.

Now, that can change after this series but right now teams would be right to fear us and right to prefer Huddersfield.

Not to mention Warrington have beaten Huddersfield three times this year.

Leeds players won't have been offended in the slightest when the got picked the last 2 years. They were the lowest ranked simple as that.

Wasn't the comment from the Warrington board that they had already made the decision to play the winners of Thursday night before the games, which could have been Hull, and not the winners of Friday which could have been Saints?

So not quite so much just because it was Leeds.

Still think the decision is proof that these sort of decisions should be made by coaches and players only, not by suits in the boardroom. I would bet any of the Warrington players would have picked Leeds after watching the respective two games of Thursday and Friday.
