Agreed.
But then again anyone wanting to take the cas job needs their head examining IMO.

| Is it just me or does lowes seem to have been marginalised over the let season or so? Co inciding with Jason Davidsons rise to prominence.

Not really I don't remember hearing much from him in the past and don't now.

| I'm amazed your fans still give Jimmy so little respect for the job he does. As one of your posters has pointed out its been unmitigated success since he came there. Granted you were successful before but remember he was part of a coaching staff that secured Salfords only play off appearance, Won 2 Challenge Cups with Warrington and on top of this is credited by many as being one of the smartest players of the Super League Era. Not a bad CV for someone a lot of you say you wouldn't mind seeing the back of. I think you all need to take an objective view and not let your misguided opinion of the bloke cloud your judgement. After all if your head coach was the biggest idiot in the world you wouldn't care as long as you kept winning. From a fan of another club I think you have one of the strongest coaching set-ups you've had for many years.

Don't worry, it's typical fickle Leeds supporters. Certain people/players you can criticise, others you can't mention anything. Lowes is one of the former.
Wasn't happy with his appointment, never liked him previously, but from what I hear and see, he has played a much bigger part with us than given credit for.

| Lowes was never a fan of rugby league growing up. He left Leeds to go and play for one of their major rivals - worst still he enjoyed great success doing so while Leeds struggled in comparison and received regular stuffings at Bradford's hands. He had running on field battles with several Leeds players along the way and wasn't shy about rubbing Leeds fan's noses in it on occasions with what some might interpret as provocative try and aftermatch celebrations. From a Leeds fans point of view it was almost as if we had to wait for Lowes to quit playing (as he did after the GF success of 2003) before we could begin to win some long overdue silverwear.
To his credit he is the first to admit he didn't handle the Warrington head coach position very well not least in regards to what happened off the pitch.
That was then and this is now. I presume Leeds are happy with his current input and he is playing his full part. He was in the press earlier this year saying he would like to take a step back-up to being a SL head coach.

I guess Powell believes he has taken Fev as far as they can go & if he fancies himself as a SL coach it's about the only chance he is going to get. If he brings Sheridan with him I would be worried as a Fev fan.

Problem with Lowes is 'Lowes the man' rather than the 'coach' and it depends how much difference there is between the two.
I've seen him -faced up town and it's not a pretty sight.

Fev have an awful lot to thank Powell for.
I reckon Cas are getting a way better coach now than Leeds got when he stepped-up.
I love this bit from Wikipedia ...
No bias there then.
