86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |

| Quote: Gotcha "Since the 90's, always thought the Challenge Cup was a mickey mouse tournament, that was highly reliant on the luck of the draws.'" That's a spurious argument though - apart from being the whole nature of a cup competition, it doesn't change the fact that if you are the best through the rounds you will win: to get the trophy you either have to beat the very best or beat someone who has themselves beaten the very best (or so on down the chain). As with the play offs, if you lose, you don't deserve to win.
Too many Leeds fans dismiss the CC primarily because Leeds continual fail to win it. Complaining about the format of a tournament, claiming that one way is "hard" or another team's route is "easy" is the approach of Wigan fans regarding the play offs. The reality is whatever the draw throws up, you beat it or you don't win the trophy - and don't deserve to win.

| Quote: William Eve "It could be based upon the amount of contested top flight turnstile operations I have watched in operation over the years and my knowledge, based upon both conscious and semi-conscious recording of the clicking regularity of pre-paid, card-operated turnstiles by season ticket holders in comparison to the clicking irregularity of cash-only manually operated ones.
I trust you will leave those of us that aren't privy to all of the SL clubs attendance accounting details and close observation of their auditing procedures to continue to discourse in our own uneducated fashion the merits of discounted season ticketed attendances, the current form of attendees and merits of not having to pay more to watch a game as you do in exchange for cash at the turnstile. After all, if you're not privy to those issues and you believe such knowledge is required in order to proffer an opinion you would be a bit of a hypocrite to do so, would you not?'"
Translation........You made it up.
Lesser posters may not have seen through your bluster but what appeared on the face of it to be a reasonable argument was built on completely specious assumptions based upon nothing more than your imagination.
HTH etc.

I wasn't aware you'd provided any evidence for your assertion that "supporters" were to blame for being too tight-fisted and were holding the game back. Thanks for gracing us with your earlier specious assumption based on nothing more than your imagination... hypocrite.
HTH, ad nauseam.

If Leeds continue in the second half of the season to take points off their peers around them, expect a Top 3 finish.

Nah, William Eve provided "introvertible" proof that 5th is the best place to finish.
No, really.

One would think so but Warrington's performance against Leeds stank the place out last week. Perhaps they've learnt a regular season trick or two and are targeting 5th place these days? I'm pretty sure St Helens already are.

Leeds might be thinking about finishing higher than 5th in order to promote season ticket sales since a number of supporters were deciding to go to the boozer with a few of the lads instead... Maybe. They, like, properly, well couldn't be d getting a season ticket anymore and weren't turning up... just like the players who couldn't be d either. Went shopping instead. Bought loads of hats they didn't really need and stuff like that.

Maybe. But surely you're not suggesting that all those fans bought hats? It'd be properly, well beauty and that for the hat sales industry in Leeds if they did, and I'd like to think the club could play its part in that sort of economic boost, but I'm just not sure.
Easier to spot that sort of thing in the players. Brett Delaney loves hats. Can't get enough of them.

It might still be the best position to finish.
Wouldn`t it be ironic if Leeds finished top 3 and Wire or Saints beat them in the final from 5th?

| It'll be a 2 horse race between Leeds and Wigan for the top spot this year. After that, who knows! I'd prefer 2nd tbf so we don't have to do club call

Club call wouldn't be an issue, as we can't pick ourselves!!

Finishing 2nd doesn't guarantee not having to make club call.
To avoid any possibility of that, don't finish top two. Tough route from 3rd or 4th, travelling in a game you're more likely to lose and more importantly lose momentum in or win and then have a break which can be a double edged sword in week three as Leeds discovered in 2010.
Finishing 5th is arguably the best spot to finish under this (IMO) deeply flawed play-off format - avoid making club call, avoid a tough game in week 1, avoid any chance of a break on route to the GF.
Little wonder Leeds covet 5th so highly.
