Living over here in aus the vibe is; as much as the players like the occasion of the Anzac test it's seen as a hindrance. To be honest over here there was a total lack of support from players, coaches and the media in regard to the value of a one off test against NZ at the seasons end.

Isnt the award decided bu Rugby League World magazine which as I understand is a British Publication. No one doubts that Sinfield is a great player but when a player isnt in either the Super League Dream Team, the Worlds Dream Team or even shortlisted by his fellow professionals for Man of Steel then you have to question the credibility of the award. Sinfield would be more suited to a lifetime achievement award or similar. To announce him the Worlds Best in a season when he failed to make any of the above lists is damaging to the award similar to what happened when Roby won man of steel which led to teh way the award was voted being changed !!

And did you the attendances at the Exiles games?? Oh the fans really got behind them and all the players who pulled out of the 2nd game

I'm thinking if Sinfield doesn't want to wear the Golden Boots, the rest of the lads wear them in honour of him. Leaving just him in whatever colour he fancies.

Great for kev to win the award. I can understand people questioning it. However, as a club captain he entered 3 competitions, won 2 and got to the final of the other.
Won MOM in the biggest games of the season.

Internationally, he played 4 games, and won them all, 3 as captain. Now, there could be critisim of the internationals this season, but its similar for all teams. You can only beat whats in front of you, and Kev has done this.

The only means of calibrating the relative strengths of the North vs Southern hemisphere this season was the WCC (even with its falws), which Kev played a big part in securing again.

There are lots of ifs, buts and questions, which could be used to discredit the award, but the facts point to Kev deserving the award.

Some Wigan fans need to shut up and sit down. Major honours are none of their concern these days.
