But it's refreshing to see someone come out and say 'look i tried to break his leg' instead of the usual yawn-fest statements.

I think he was inspired by Blatter in the last part of his statement.

Frankly it's an unnecessary statement to make, as the intent was obvious to everyone who saw it.

That his "punishment" is to sit out a couple of friendlies he probably would have been rested for anyway reflects badly on the sport IMO.

I wonder what both Phil Clarke and his rugby gods will make of this?

Will he even bother to make a big issue of it?

If he doesn't it is clearly double standards IMO
