I think mentally and confidence wise it's a huge game for Warrington. Far more so than for saints

Agree. I don't really understand all the point regarding arrogance, and although only 2 points are on offer it would be a boost to wire mentally to get the win

Maybe, but don't you think that Saints will want to lay down a marker at their new "home" ground?

long way to go so in the league and many twists and turns but untill we adopt the american football system wereby you will hold the tie breaker over the beaten team it will be 2 points and in some players mind it could put a seed of doubt but with tony smith in charge i doubt it he will say it is only a tough game

Quote: Sal Paradise "Once again your inability to read comes back to haunt you.

Sport is as much about belief as it is about ability - do Warrington actually believe they can beat Saints - the longer the run continues the less the belief!! It is important for Saints to maintain the run from a psycological point - something that has gone so far over your pea brain that it would laughable if it weren't so tragic.

Downstairs for dancing - upstairs for........'"

In late August or September maybe. In February it's 2 points.

From the Leeds performance that I have seen could be a very tough game next week. Didn't see wire game as at match but I am assuming they looked good

easily our best display since the cup final last season..... were were awesome... 0-18 at half time... then went 0-24 up and killed the game off... saints scored a few tries when the games was over as a contest.

Our forwards absolutely destroyed saints.... worth recording tonights late showing on sky and watching carvell butcher james graham.

It's sky + to watch tomorrow. Can't wait then till next week. Hope we can improve or it could be very uncomftable viewing (from
my point of view not yours!)

Quote: SaintsFan "Wire have been well capable of beating us for the last three seasons but even when they have taken significant leads, like in the playoff match last season, we have come back and won, regardless of how well we have been playing ourselves. In 2008, for instance, they were beating us until the last five minutes when we scored a try to draw the match only for Longy to kick one over on I think the last play. Why did they lose that match? Why have they lost so many against us in the last three years? Why can they beat everyone else but not us? It has to be a question of confidence. It certainly isn't to do with ability because on paper, certainly this season, they are at least as good as us if not better (given our pathetic wings, lack of one centre and mostly absent halfbacks!).

If they don't beat us tonight, when they won't even have Knowsley Road or Keiron Cunningham as excuses, I will be even more baffled by their losses than I am already, and I'm very baffled by their losses as it is.

At last someone with a depth of thought beyond the obvious - I note the likes of Gareth haven't bothered to reply to this excellent post - no surprise there

So winning today will not give Warrington a significant boost going into the next month?

Erm, I came away from my computer screen at about 3pm.

Well done Wire. The monkey is off their back and they have 2 points. Harlequins got the same for beating us. Tonight's results will have no bearing whatsoever on the title. Do you recall Leeds getting Shallocked at Saints in the GF qualifier in 08? What bearing did that have? Or Leeds getting shallocked by Hull in the last league game of the season in 07?

I'd have though, in particular as a Leeds fan it might have dawned upon you that the league season is a qualifying campaign, nothing more and form in February has little bearing. After all, I do recall you writing us off in February, March and April of 2007 and 2008 only to be left with egg on your face.

It's 2 league points at this stage, nothing more, nothing less.

Quote: morleys_deckchair "I don't think you would make a good politician.... someone would ask you for your opinion and you would probably tell them the time.

To answer your question.....of course they would play against Leeds/Wigan.... no one ever said otherwise.... but probably not against a team like castleford or Hull KR

So lets roll back 4/5/6/7 (i could go on) seasons when we were not challenging at the top... and we were not winning cups... yet this record existed and saints WERE risking players who were not fully fit because of the record...... NOT because we were challengers to their league position.

What's your take on that? Were the players telling porkys?'"

still havent seen you answer this question 'darling'.
