Yep. One feels Catherine to be much more appropriate.

If you want another laugh, just click on Tackling Skills in here to see Guscott's idea of coaching tackling skills

Lewis Moody when he's fit, but he's injured so Mike Tindall got to do it for now.

To give that some perspective, I attended a coaches session run by London Irish a while back. They go through video of the game and every tackle gets a score of 0-5. 0 is a miss, all the way through to 5 which is a turnover. The tackle objective at pro level Union is exactly the same as in league - to slow down the ruck speed so the defence can organise. A 1 on 1 side tackle that drops a player straight to the floor scores 1 - it's a defensive failure as usually the tackler is isolated and the ball can be recycled instantly. An upright wrap around and drive (preferably with more than one defender) that clamps the ball and pushes the player back scores a 3-4 depending on how long it takes the ball to be recycled.
I think this video is aimed at kids and introducing them to the game - safety here is the initial priority. Hence all the stuff about getting your head on the right side etc. And some of us still get it wrong like I did on Saturday.

just goes to show neil fissler is a "joke" journalist if RL is that much of a joke sport then why can't RU and more point of fact england RU produce plyers like kyle eastmond ect i think eastmond will end up on the wing or at fullback in RU, like robbo did. good luck to the kid you could see his heart wasn't in it saturday where he'd usually run at defences in good attacking positions he switched play and passed it on and that certainly wasn't his game.

Because they're not suited to the union game? Much the same way that league doesn't produce a lot of 6'6" forwards or players that can kick goals from their own half.
The English rugby union system has produced plenty of players of its own perfectly suited to playing their sport - indeed you may want to ask why if the sport can't produce players of quality as you suggest was it such a rich breeding ground for successful rugby league converts until it went openly professional?

| I'm not sure the English RFU was such a rich breeding ground for RL although not entirely because of a lack of talent. There was not enough money in RL to tempt them. We tended to pick up the dissaffected, passed over talent rather than top proven International quality, I can't think of one of those.
The Welsh RFU however you'd have a point.

ok andy you name me five ENGLISH internationals who coverted from union to league in the 70's 80's 90's i bet you couldn't count them on one hand, because we all know they were well paid in their day jobs unlike the welsh coverts jon webb (surgeon) brian moore (solicitor) rory underwood (RAF pilot) to name just 3.

Why do they have to be internationals?
Your point was the rugby union in England was incapable of producing its own players up to the standard of those produced by rugby league.
Are you shifting the goalposts now you've realised how silly that comment was?
Where do you think the most prolific rugby league try scorer of the 1990s came from?
Closer to home, who was Keith Senior playing for when he was picked up by Sheffield Eagles?

John Bentley was one ... Hadn't Big Jim Fallon had a game for England before he signed for us ?
