| As agreed by most Bailey, Buderus, Senior and McGuire were the best players on the pitch for Leeds IMO. I text my friend at half time saying we still had a chance but Bailey & Buderus needed to be brought back on ASAP. I'd have given Buderus MOM by a whisker (the McGuire pass into touch & knock on and the Bailey penalty have been taken into account) not only for his attacking prowess but the amount of work he put in defensively - the man is a tackling machine and plays well above his weight

| Quote: G1 "Al, why is it a joke that so many posters don't share your opinion?'"
I'll tell you why Gareth. I don't believe most of these posters think for themselves. When you throw your weight behind a campaign people invariably follow.
I can tell you many of the people I watched the game with did not share the opinion of the posters on here. I honestly believe that the praise for Bailey is over the top most of the time.
I read these boards every day but I have to say the world on southstander and off it is a completely different one as far as opinions go.

| I agree. I think Bailey has gone from been an underated player to a over hyped one on here.
That is not to say i don't think he is playing well and worthy of his place in the team. He is playing as well, if not better than at anytime since he broke into the team but is still getting over hyped IMO.

It's a lot of weight to throw but I am working on it.
I haven't always rated Bailey so highly. I found his work rate (or lack thereof) infuriating back in 2005 ish. I still wish he would up his work rate a little but there's only so many carries to share around and that's not his main function in the team. What he does is usually high quality though. I like tha aggression he show in collision with and without the ball and he plays a vital role in our success along with those around him.
He was under appreciated. He might now be over appreciated but that is surely better for a player who has acheived what he has done with our club?

| We do have a fair number of easily manipulated posters but hey ho.
When Jamie Peacock, who for me is the heart and soul of this squad, had his extended rest this season, Bailley has really stepped up to the mark in his absence.
It doesn't make him an automatic candidate for MOM, far less an England call up, but I do think you need to give credit where its due.
Equally, I think he should get his ass kicked when he gives away a needless penalty, as in Saturday, that cost us 6 points in a very tight game.
Overall, I reckon he's having his best season, and if that gets up the noses of the chattering classes......so much the better!

Pretty much agree with this, although it's always tempting to big up Bailey just to wind up opposition fans. Re conceding the penalty, a different ref might just as easily have given Moore 10 minutes to cool off.

The penalty was a high tackle on Roby mate!
We got the scrum for knock on after the Moore dummy spit because RB tapped his noggin for it and he flipped.

| I don't like to see Leeds players congratulate opposition player's mistakes ...... except perhaps when Bailey does it.
I do like to see player's congratulating team-mates when the opposition stuff up though.

Good call, thanks for reminding me. Didn't think there was a lot in the Roby tackle though.

| Abit of a swinging arm but worse tackles in the game went unpunished.

The way Davies was harping on you'd think he (RB) was the only player in the league to do it it happens numerous times in a game and all teams have players who do it.

That comes down to consistency though from the whistle blower who tbf had a pretty decent game imo.
I know that sounds like it's because we won ,i can assure you it isnt i thought he let both teams get away with an equal amount and could of blown for so much more for both teams but let the game flow as much as possible.
He could of also sent Moore and Jjb to the bin for petulance but used his noggin and gave "benefit of the doubt" because of the magnitude of the game.

| Penalising Moore for his challenge on Sinfield early on was a lucky break for Leeds. I didn't see anything in it.
The Meli one on Burrow (flagged by Child) was avoidable contact and a better decision.
Leeds still managed to lose the penalty count though for the 5th game running.
