He (you) should be wary about paying cash for everything too, not only is it incredibly tax-inefficient ( which any so-called businessman should know) but its also quite dodgy since the money laundering laws came into effect, the last thing you want to be seen doing is handing over £60K for an X5 when your bank are legally obliged to inform on you.

I know someone who was stupid enough to pay just under half a million in cash into his personal bank account and withdraw it again seven days later - he ended up with the drugs squad busting his house and he did nine months at Her Majestys Pleasure. (True story)
