whether or not a crime has been committed here is up to the police and the courts to persue... if guilty I would support the full force of the law.... in the case of innocence the secondary question should be asked...


the secondary question is "did these players allow themselves to be put in a position where they could be accused"... these are privilaged young men who play sport for money... when they are on trips like this they are not just representing themselves... they represent the club, the town, the supporters, the management, their families (wives and children), and on a wider scale they represent the game and all of the people involved in the game as fans and sponsors. Innocence of crime should not mean [ino punishment. [/i

It just doesn't take into account the thought processes of your average professional rugby player - that is, a big daft lad who was only good at sports at school.

When you approach it from that angle it all makes perfect sense.

I was in a situation in the 80s at a rugby do over in Oldham when a few of us had an inkling a mat who had pulled a local was round the back pleasuring her. So we went round, sure enough he was; so we did what lads do - jumped around cheering & laughing. Later, back in the club after we had left & the story was doing the rounds, she claimed she had been raped. It never went any further but the next 2 weeks were among the worst of my life, every time the phone rang I was terrified, I lost a stone in weight.

I am also very close to someone who was sexually abused who never had the confidence or support to take it further. It has destroyed large parts of her life.

These are the 2 extremes that need considering when posting 'humorous' messages.

I once found myself in a situation where I was accused of rape . The accusation was aimed directly at me . It was made purely out of malice . I hadn't even kissed her never mind taken things any further . In fact , the reason she made the allegations were because I had KB'd her .
I was arrested at work . From there I was taken to Weetwood police station and printed/DNA tested/photoed etc etc etc .
I was interviewed and when asked about the date etc of the alledged offence I was able to provide evidence that I was 120 miles from the scene , and I had about 300 witnesses to prove that fact .
It was a month or two before charges were foermally dropped and I was in the clear , but meanwhile I had to inform work and family of the allegations .

If (and more than likely, when ) these allegations are found to be malicious the 'victim' should be named , shamed , and jailed .

Completely wrong that. Did she at least get prosecuted by the CPS for wasting police time/pervertring the course of justice. Hope you're sorted now mate.

No . She got off with a warning . She made the allegations on three seperate occasions , and I was arrested each time over a period of 18 months .
She now lives 200 miles from me and her kids live near me with their dad . I would like to throw the first handful of soil on her coffin . I would love to hear her scratching on the lid of it as I throw said handful of soil .

Oh ! How I would love to dance around her headstone and kick the flowers around .
