| I do enjoy all this speculation about who will be where and doing what in 2012.
Who is to say that Jones-Bishop won't find playing in SL under Brian McDermott so much fun that he wants to do it full time rather than return to Leeds after his loan spell?
Or that by the time Brent Webb's contract is up there won't be some whippersnapper out of the next generation of scholarship kids ready to step up to first team level?

LEEDS RHINOS - HISTORY MAKERS-2007, 2008 and 2009 Champions
[quote="TheOtherOne":7qqvi4ts]Leeds are still the best team in the competition so if we do have to play them I would hope it's at Knowsley Road with home advantage giving us a chance to knock them out. If somehow we end up playing them at Old Trafford I can only see one outcome

I'm hoping BJB will have a good year darn sarf and then come back to be our first choice wing/backup FB in 2011...IIRC correctly Webb's contract may then be up and BJB (if he's proved upto it) should be in with a a shout for first choice FB in 2012'"
I can see him going out on loan the season after next too, giving him two years SL experience to come back in and replace an off contract Webb.

Very true - I got somewhat sidetracked but my underlying point was that we don't really need to worry about who replaces Donald in 2010

He'll be 22 next year - if he's not good enough for Leeds at that point I suspect it'll be time to move on and make room for the next "next big thing"

I think backs and forwards differ in this respect. With a back IMO it's easier to tell at an early age whether they are going to have what it takes to cut the mustard at a top club. If they aren't kicking down the door demanding selection with their ability by the time they get to 22-23 then it's not going to happen.
Forwards however need time to mature physically. You need only look at Jamie Peacock for evidence that a forward who isn't playing regularly at 21-22 can still go on and have a successful career in the game.

That was rugby nous not a foot race unless you think Sinfield is actually faster than Broughton?
I prefer to acknowledge his performance at Belle Vue and in the Headingley 9's for examples of his pace.

I can see why you'd rather not acknowledge his performance against us. Wasn't that the one when he tackled himself and fell over with the line at his mercy?

But he could easily be ready for SL, it's just that Brent Webb is blocking his way.

That's my take as well.
To be fair, I think this is what the cap was brought in for. If he has got talent but he's behind a world class Webb for the 1 shirt and not in the running for a wing spot then he should be out playing SL for another club in some shape or form. It's got to be good for the game.

In which case other clubs are going to be sniffing around him for a more permanent move, and the lad himself is probably going to want to be on his way by that point rather than sit in the reserves - much like Danny Allan was.
Certainly if Webb gets his contract renewed I'd be surprised to see BJB stick around.

I saw Sinfield use men in support of his run and a change of direction to beat Broughton to the corner
From what I've seen of both I know which one I think is faster in a foot race and it isn't the Leeds captain.
So are we to take it you don't rate Jodie Broughton?

He's shown nothing so far to suggest he merits a wing spot ahead of Hall or Donald.

If Stains hadn't made so many late attempts to win the award, that would have scooped 'Funniest Moment Of The Season' by a mile.
