Yes the logic behind the Goody publictity of raising cash for the kids and raising awareness for smear tests was good but the red tops took her to the messiah status, part of me wishes Tomlinson had the same treatment |

It's a tough decision to make definately, and from Jade's point of view it's a no-brainer - take the money and have your last shot at fame - so you are right, it's difficult to blame the girl. But I'm not sure it's the best decision for her kids. You and me will have no interest in her kids lives, or any story that follows - and if the World was made up of people who thought like that then her decision was correct. But the World is made up of very different people and there will be a huge, un-ending appetite for stories about the children, the husband, the father (who is another talentless Z list celeb). There is no amount of money that I would take if I thought it would make a mess of my kids lives. A clean slate is better than a marked card.
In hope they leave all alone now and in 10 years time it's all forgotten. |

I've never bought a copy of OK or Hello or heat magazine. Never. Not interested.
I wasn't interested in Jade Goody's "career".
I don't, however, find anything in the suffering and death of a young woman with children that makes me want to pontificate about my point of view on an internet forum.

By posting on this thread, you have. Nobody has been "pontifcating" about the suffering of Jade.
The point of this thread,which most people apart from you seem to have grasped, was about the appalling treatment by the press and some parts of the the British public trying to turn an ignorant racist, who`s blood they were screaming for a short while ago, into the new Mother Terresa.
All the "new Diana" (as someone on the BBC called her)did was take, I was comparing her to someone in a similar position who did nothing but give.
As the story has been pontificated by every news carrier in the land it is certainly acceptable to pontificate about it on a public forum. It was clearly marked off topic.
