I'm sure Peacock will have put his hand up - just as he did for the Huddersfield CC game despite injuring a knee V Bradford the week before, although not sure whether that was going against the medical advice but the practical upshot of that decision was that he missed the next three games and apparently it should have been left longer still (another fortnight?) before a return.

Presumably Brian McDermott is still in charge of team selection and carries a duty of care towards his players - using all the information at his disposal.



I hold him responsible for those things I would hold any current, previous or future Leeds coach responsible for. The squad he has been given to work with wouldn't be among them, however he is IMO responsible for how he chooses to use it.

The evidence that Peacock played on Friday against medical advice came courtesy of comments made by a member of the Headingley coaching staff and I quote: "He defied, certainly defied the physios and the doctors orders and declared himself fit."

The evidence that Leeds are playing players that are busted came from a comment made by a member of the 1st team squad at the Etihad Stadium and again I quote: We've got a few boys that are busted, that are playing busted as well."

I cannot personally vouch for their accuracy nor have I ever claimed to do so but if you want to concentrate on only shooting the messenger then fire away.

I've given two direct quotes made by people within the coaching and player pool at Headingley. People can interpret them in whichever way they choose.

There isn't a team in SL at this stage of the season that doesn't have players who are playing busted.

You would ensure your juniors are at a level where they could fill in with minimal disruption to the patterns and the quality of the performance. That way the player could get the operation he needs at the optimal time, delaying the operation risks the chance of a compensation injury and longer recovery time post op.
