| Quote: Sal Paradise "Didn't Jeffery Archer get one of these!!
HTH'"
The point I was making was that voluntary work or service to the community is not a necessary criterion, and that JP is an excellent candidate according to the criteria.
Jeffrey Archer is a total irrelevance to me - I wouldn't particularly care if he got syphilis, let alone an MBE.

| Quote: tvoc "The role of captaining your national side is not limited to the eighty minutes during a game but requires said player to also (along with the coach) undertake onerous media responsibilities both pre and post match and become a main focus for attention.
(As an aside Peacock in doing so steps well outside what I imagine to be his personal comfort zone.)'"
I recall from the DVD of GB's Tri Nations tour of Australia and NZ in 2006 that the undertaking of the skippers motivational dressing room speech appeared to be allocated to Brian Carney instead. Though to be fair, JP did finish it off with a rousing [i"Cum on lads, let's fookin get stuck in!"[/i

| An example of captain and vice-captain playing to their strengths.
Carney's inspirational words backing Peacock's inspirational lead on the pitch.

So for a few TV interviews he should get a gong!! Cavendish got the same award look at what he has achieved - he races and beats the best in the world, can you hand on heart say that about Peacock - he captains one of the poorest international sides around. If we are going to give out gongs for sporting achievement let's make sure the recipient meets a suitable criteria.

I've witnessed way too many hammerings meted out to our lads on the international stage during the SL-era to accept his international record and "inspirational lead" as a credible justification for any personal award. Justification might be better limited to his domestic role and achievements and I suspect that's what his MBE award is primarily based upon. I'd also expect that JP would eagerly exchange it for just one tournament or series win in his career over Australia.

| I think most of you will know the tune to this one....
Jamie went to see the queen
The queen . The queen
The poshest bird he's ever seen
The queen . The queen
She gave him a golden gong
Then said 'young man your c*ck is long'
'It's by far the biggest one I've seen' .
Taxi ! ! !

| The clip was of two people sat talking on otherwise empty terracing . it looked like the bloke on the right ( holding the mic ) was interviewing somebody who was meant to be JP . The interviewee was big and ugly , but not ugly enough to be JP . 99% certain from seeing a very short video clip that it was Morley .

No I don't believe I said that was ever the only justification for the award. I suspect you're just a little relieved Sinfield turned it down first.
Quote: Sal Paradise "What happened on the pitch?'"
Swiftcorn highlighted 2006.
According to this www.jamiepeacock.co.uk/about.html (I've no idea if it's correct) he was named the best forward in the world.
If true not too shabby an accolade considering he represents a virtual no hope country in a team sport. Not forgetting that was the series he slotted Mason - probably deserves a knighthood instead.
