| Quote: doc-rhino "INOUT
qualities for a good christian and covering 2 small half backs tackling but for a legendary 2nd rower (twice failed prop) how many clean breaks were made , how many big hits? picking best backrowers since 99 he would be behind morley, farrell, glanville, sinfield, lauititi, ward, , ellis, ablett , cuthbertson,
as i said generous, would struggle to put harris schoey and hanley as legends
should be for the pinnacles lewis jones, holmes , sinfield,,'"
I remember him for some stand-out moments, his pass to Smith in the 07 GF, his kick chase in the 08 WCC but mostly for his tireless and consistent effort, not all quality work is flashy. How many clean breaks or big hits did Peacock make? Very few. But he is also rightly a legend of not only Leeds but the sport.
Also you can’t genuinely put JJB behind Ellis, Ward, Ablett & Cuthbertson. Ellis only played for Leeds for 4 seasons, Ward has done nothing above JJB in his time so far, same for Ablett.

| JJB is clearly a legend. Without players like him McGuire, Burrow and Sinfield don’t get to do the things they did. They all contributed in different ways to an outstanding team and period in the clubs history.

| Quote: Jrrhino "What it boils down too is everyones opinion of a player and how much you think they have given to your club and impacted it and imo JJB is a Leeds legend for his commitment, determination, selflessness and Success.'" totally agree - without supporting players like JJB, Sinfield and his position(s) on the field have less impact.

| It depends on your definition of 'legend' and how many players you want in that bracket. If you're talking top 5 or 10 players of all time JJB wouldn't be in many people's lists. If you're talking top 50 he might be in most.

The number is irrellevant if he's played a big part in the most successful part of your Clubs History then he's in whether tjat yakes your clubs legend list to 5 or 6 or 56.

| Course the number is relevant, because its about how exclusive or otherwise you want a list to be. That's the whole point. YOUR view is that he should be in and therefore have a longer list, others think the term 'legend' should be mega-exclusive to maybe 5 players. Nobody is actually right or wrong because there's no agreed definition.
If you were to ask me (which you didn't) I'd say the 5 most important players in the club's history (in no particular order) would be Lewis Jones, Joe Thompson, Eric Harris, John Holmes and Kevin Sinfield. Each of those players dominated an era for the club and won things.
If you would put JJB ahead of them then that's your view and you're entitled to it, but to me he wouldn't be in the top 20 players in the history of the club (which predates SL by more than 100 years). He would maybe be in my top 50, but I probably wouldn't call top 50 'legends'.

| Many supporters use Alex Simmon's definition of RL legend which appears to be anyone who has worn a RL shirt and bought him a pint. JJB is a loyal club player but not a legend by any stretch of the imagination.

| The Golden Generation is in itself pretty much legendary. Within that context, the respective contributions may be judged by representation within those winning teams. JJB is right up there for me.

Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?
Fletcher: No, Bradford.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40413.jpg |

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

Ian Kirke won 4 = I think - so what does that say?
Legend is about there quality as a player not what they have won

| For me the term legend is made up of many areas. A legend needs to have been at a club for a long period of time, have been a player of real quality, and have been someone who was instrumental in the success of the team. There aren't many players who can tick all the boxes. For me I don't think he was quite a good enough player to tick the middle box. He was effective and reliable and made the most of the talent he had with his attitude and dedication. He wasn't a standout player of his generation.
However, for me that puts him in a similar place as Burrow and McGuire
