Quote: RhinoNeil "I'm going to say it.

IF we win there is a good chance we will play Widnes in the Challenge Cup Final.

Just let that sink in for a moment.

C'mon Leeds!'"

I personally have a feeling that Widnes will beat Cas on Sunday. I have watched Cas a lot, and they are very good at times this year. Millington is very important to them though, and missing. Carney, although IMO over rated, lays a good go forward for them. But most of all, and the reason I have this feeling, Cas are just too confident and cock sure.

For Leeds people spend far too much time over rating some players, and putting down some others. The fact is it boils down to two players, Sinfield and Peacock. If them two come off that field and put in their best efforts, then it is likely that Leeds have performed, and probably won. If those two are not at their best, then the opposite happens, no matter which team mates are around them.

Disagree re-Sinfield/JP Gotcha I think we need more than them performing to win this game the whole 17 need to put a shift in especially defensively around the ruck.
I honestly think if we stop their fast ptb's and have good defensive line speed we will beat them.

I've had a sneaky feeling for Widnes too. Just got a feeling Cas won't handle the pressure of being favourites and most people backing them to win. Widnes will go in with a nothing to lose kinda mentality.

The point was more, if those two are not on their top games, then their isn't enough in the rest. If those two play their top games, then they are above what Warrington can match. They are the difference players.

Bet you can't find me one single quote from a Cas fan to back that up.
Just because everyone in the media is tipping us to win doesn't mean we as fans are over confident.
Im sure Widnes will be fired up and could easily turn us over if they start quickly and we aren't on the boil from the start.
For what it's worth I would really love an all Yorkshire final.
I genuinely mean this - good luck on Saturday, hope we can get through to see you all at wembley.

That's exactly how I feel, after losing milo, carney and Weller, I'm not confident at all, just got everything crossed.
Having said that, our boys keep doing the business, so let's see.

Regardless of it being Cas or Widnes we'll never have a better chance for this group of players to finally win the CC. You'd hope playing at Wembley for the first time would effect them both (as it did us!).

Just need to beat Warrington first.... high-five.gif

Well, last time I watched us play Widnes in a final, we got our botties handed to us at Central Park. Wouldn't mind another go at them.

But on the other hand, a final against a Cas side playing good rugby and back to being one of the top sides? Yes please.

No easy games to be had given how motivated either opponent would be - both are famous old clubs who have waited a long time for a CC final - since the days of Wigan dominance.

I think the winners of Leeds v Wire will be installed as favourites, but I think there are 3 unpredictable games left in this Cup. I just hope we're part of 2 of them!

I don't want to pop your bubble mate, but the fans are not playing the semi, the players are. I wasn't talking one bit about fans, players only.

It might just explain the long string of lacklustre half hearted performances....the club, team and all concerned realised that one more energy conserved all or nothing match this Saturday and it would mean their best (last) chance to lift the elusive silverware they all no doubt crave.

'"

We've heard it all before.

2008 - oh they are desperate, out in the semi
2009 - they wanna give the competition a real shake up, out in the first round
2010 - we are desperate to win this one, lose final
2011 - we are desperate to win this one, lose final
2012 - we are desperate to win this one, lose final

Essentially it seems this desire to win the trophy that has escaped them, adds pressure and they fail to perform. Because their performance in every CC final since 2003 has been crap. In the grand finals, I'm sure they want it just as much, but they've won so many before there's just not the same pressure.

I take your point, but I thought we played quite well in 2011. We just lost to a better team (at that stage of the season) and didn't quite get the rub of the green.

2005, 2010 and 2012 were definitely cr*p though.

Although you couldn't fault the 2005 final for entertainment.

and I wonder just how many other clubs and their fans would gladly swap even that record of achievment for theirs. icon_wink.gif

A final against cas would be awful. I'm talking purely from the ''i want to win'' fan perspective rather than the ''let's have a few beers and enjoy a good game'' perspective. Cas would have nothing to lose and everything to gain, and if they won....it'd be armageddon, we'd never hear the end of it. They'd dine out on it for the next 20 years.

Lose against widnes and there'd be nothing, they aren't local rivals.

F*ck a final against cas if we get there. Too much to lose.

I'd enjoy a warrington v cas final more than a leeds v cas one. Go figure.

I get where you're coming from, the way they came back but..........

16-0 down, in a final, after 25 mins. The only way that can be recovered and classed as a good performance is if they win.
