| I thought they'd be thanking us for giving them the chance to have one final mass scrap with their beloved neighbours from across the way.
Hope those goalposts stay upright

Then in 07, then we definitely weren't gonna beat a Saints team blitzing all before them in 2008.
I quite like it when people tell us we'll win nothing.

Listen mate, Ian Smith was shocking but he was just plan shocking (as he has been all season) and his many errors for both sides showed no bias either way!
So now you will talk about Radford's red card, irrespective of what Bailey did, getting up and punching Bailey clean in the face while he was still on the floor in the tackle, in front of the officials is just bloody stupid. Ian Smith's only redeeming moment was having the bottle to give Radford a red card and not put the whole thing on report, yes Bailey should have seen Yellow as well, but to be fair Bluey withdrew him for much longer than 10 minutes anyway!
That all said, the Radford sending off did us no real favours in the end IMO, it was the same as what happened in 1999 when Barrie Mac got sent off in the play-off's, of course we won that game, but suddenly it galvanised the Hull side and they really started to play like they had nothing to lose... which they didn't!

Smith's judgement of what constitutes a knock-on and what doesn't really does need some work. It seems to differ depending on whether he feels he has a decision to make up for or not.
And as for Uncle Albert in the video truck. Is it too much to ask that we get some consistency on what constitutes grounding of the ball for a try and what doesn't?
Lee Smith lost control of the ball, but was still in contact with the ball when it hit the ground. That has been sufficient for a number of tries to be awarded by the VR this season, yet in other cases almost the exact same circumstances have seen tries disallowed.

I said at the time it was a "Roby" but was obviously pleased when it was disallowed.

I agree he was very poor and more importantly very inconsistent on ruling on knock-ons and both sides felt they were hard done by on a number of occasions because of this mixed message!

I agree with you totally about consistency on this type of decision and Alibert is the worst offender, but that said I don't think most of these 'contact with ball tries' should have been allowed in the first place and as such Smith's was a No Try for me.
Talking of VR's I was really pleased to see Childs view Shenton's try at KR from at least two angles at full speed, instead of slow-mo, before then ruling correctly that it was a try and not a double movement. I know that Childs was unlikely not to do this for this particular type of incident, given that Cummins did agree that he got the almost identical McGuire No Try call wrong at Hull KR, but he did think to look at it at full speed before making the call and it clear shows this incident more clearly. We should see more VR's looking at some types of incidents at full speed before making a final call! It is amazing sometimes how different an incident looks in slow-mo than full speed!

When did your reign start? When you can match our record by all means come and gloat. Until then (and it will be a very very long time)

This is just low class. Coming on here, rubbing all your SL successes in our faces when all we've got is our poxy 3 titles in 3 years and 4 in the last 6. Heartless. Just heartless.

That was indeed shocking that. Four clear knock ons by Hull in that first half, all of which he gave as backwards, yet Delaney's that was far more a case of backwards than the others was immediately given knock on.
The one by Briscoe from the high kick, was a particular, "You need to go to specsavers" moment.

Got to agree with you. Couldn't believe a couple of them we got away with. On the other hand we've all seen plenty of knock ons given when the ball has clearly gone backwards.

This must be the third, fourth time I've agreed with your observations today.
I did take a knock to the head on Saturday so that might explain it.

| Just highlights the inconsistency of the officials imo and again shows no sign of improving under Cummings.
