True, I'd also say that even if he did have enough money (which he won't) he doesn't strike me as the type who'd be happy just doing nothing and would want to find a job to challenge him.

He actually didn't want to work for GH. Thought it would be a nightmare.

| As a Rugby League fan something must be done, in my opinion, to keep him in the game. Obviously over the years I've shouted against him on the terraces, however talents like him do not come around very often. We need the likes of Kevin Sinfield in our sport in whatever capacity, he has too much to give. Having spoken to him a couple of times in the past he seems a perfect person to pass on knowledge, experience and advice to youngsters coming into the game. There are not many players that have commanded the respect that he has from players and fans from all clubs. Good luck for the future Kev in whatever you do, hopefully it will be a long career in Rugby League. That wasn't easy to type for a lifelong Cas fan I can assure you, but credit and respect where it is due.

| It is pretty certain he will stay in the game, but he has always talked of an administrative role and distanced himself from talk of coaching roles.

Appears to rule out becoming Head Coach of Leeds then.

| Has he got any coaching qualifications? I was under the impression that he did not want to take this route. His great influence was to lead by example and lead on the field. I think he would find coaching very frustrating as now he is to retire from playing his influence may diminish. I think he may head in the direction of the media and perhaps the big screen.

Don't think he was ever keen on being in front of the camera, but did so as that was part of his role as the captain of the club. I mean the guy isn't even on any social media so would seem tv and media work isn't exactly what he'd prefer to do.
Who knows what he'll want to do. In the past he's said not coaching but then again you can have different feelings about things when you've retired and miss things more than you thought you would.

| Sonny was the year above me at secondary school and while all the other tools in the team used to try a knock your head off and pick a fight. He always made time for all of us to give advice and a slap on the back. A true Gentleman but I fear he made be destined for greater things. He was a top guy and a top student if I remember Mr Barton's right. Sure he was lined up for a law degree. Good luck to him and for me Oldhams best son

The way I read it, it is pretty much a done deal he is staying at Leeds. Maybe he could be strategic manager of rugby, under Gary but advising McD. Because McD is obviously clueless on how to bring the team together. Our biggest problem is not the talent on the pitch it's getting the talent to play together as a team.

| His playing career finished today as Carnegie lost on aggregate to Doncaster.
End of a brilliant career.
