| Enough about Briscoe, I'd like to know why the OP decided to put Yeaman on the wing and other people dropping him just so they can fit Ablett into the team. Oh dear!

Regarding Chase as mom and his perfomance I thought he was hit and miss last night, certainly felt he didnt deserve mom, should have gone to roby or ellis. Also i dont think he offered us anything extra on what we already had available to us in the likes of myler who i would rather have in the team than chase. I also feel hes wound up too easily like at the end when he slapped the french player after the tackle, no need for it and we cant afford silly things like that against better teams. I would still play him against the welsh with widdop as we havent got any better options in the squad at the moment.

Ahhh yes, Manning-gate, I remember it well. Danny pestered me to go with him.

There's nothing new in fans of victorious SL-title winning clubs glancing through their club-biased spectacles demanding the selection of their club players for the national side at the expense of all available positions and all other players.
I still recall with fond memories some of the laughable GB selection suggestions from Saints fans during some of their glory days... Mike Bennett, Tim Jonkers, John Stankevitch, Anthony Stewart, Ade Gardner, etc. Unfortunately, Ade Gardner became a reality!
My only surprise is that the OP didn't select BJ-B on the wing instead of Yeaman.
On another note, if Yeaman was the real deal centre for international duty, the absurdity of selecting a Super League standard squad player forward like Carl Ablett ahead of him at centre ought to be viewed as clear cut nonsense. The tragedy of the situation is that it isn't nonsense because Yeaman ain't a much better (if at all) option than Ablett.

To be fair, he changed his tune once he'd been made aware of a few ethical concerns.

The OP recognises that Yeaman offers solidity in both attack & defence. Briscoe doesn't. We aren't going to beat Oz by scintilating free-flowing RL, a mammoth defensive effort is required by all. Hence Ablett in the centre & Yeaman onto the wing. Solid but unspectacular will give us a chance in the 4 nations

| You can't just sit back and let Oz attack you all game because we'll get no where. The OP is clueless if he really thinks that Briscoe doesn't offer anything. Yeaman and Briscoe work great together hence why they scored 39 tries betweem them in the league, and no other partnership got near them.
Like I said, there is nothing wrong with Briscoe's defence he's one of the best defensive wingers in England and is capable of producing magic too!

| Well lets hope he proves me wrong then. I appreciate what he offers in offence btw. I also never suggested we 'sit back & let Oz attack us'. If anything I suggest we take the game to them up front and back it up with a mean defence (similar to Leeds in the GF). Briscoe (if selected) WILL be targetted - time will tell if he's up to it

| Personally would leave yeaman and briscoe in the team. Would have ablett on the bench instead of wilkin. Would drop JJB from the bench and replace him with Bailey.
Would keep sinfield where he is at the moment

| At the risk of being very pessimistic it doesnt really matter who we play; we will lose to Australia and New Zealand...
They are better than any combination of players we can put out...

Depends on which NZ team turns up... the good one or the indisciplined one? I think England are in with a chance against them. Australia? No chance.
