| Quote: Dave Heron's Moustache "There was one player (I couldn't see the number) stood a metre or two infront of Ganson. If he's been anywhere other than right infront of him I think you are right, but it was the correct decision. The fact he didn't give others is purely down to Mr G.
And no, I don't think he would have given a penalty if Diskin hadn't knocked on.
What this says to me is that Ganson is a ref who doesn't give what he sees, I have the suspician that he tries to set his own narrative to the game (which is why I prefer the likes of Smith - even though he makes errors there is no real plan to it). IMO Ganson sees himself as the conductor of the game rather than the arbiter of the rulebook - his aggressive attitude when awarding penalties doesn't transmit calm to players (Klein got a lot of stick, but he never lost his cool and kept players cool generally because of this). Ganson's face when Donald scored said volumes, I've never seen anyone look as gutted (he looked more p!$$ed off than Kear).'"
Totally agree with all your comments. I believe that Ganson thinks that the crowd come to see him and not the players. His ego is twice as big as the players he is refereeing. I know from personal experience that it is difficult to concentrate on the game when you believe that the official is not seeing the same offences for both teams and comments are often made. Sinfield elluded to this in his after match comments.

There's the rub, all we ask is that both sides are refereed the same.
Can anyone seriously suggest that at no time in the game did wakefield put in a high tackle or commit any other offence until we'd been pinged 10 times?
Similarly in tonights's game when Grix had to go off to play no further part in the game after an attack to the head missed by all the officials, yet the Wolves got penalised for a much less serious high tackle by Vinnie Anderson I think a few moments later.
That's what irritates fans of all teams. The lack of consistency.

| It can't be a coincidence that we get penalised like mad in every game and we have given away more penalties than any other team in SL (bar 1).
Something needs to be done, our discipline is terrible!
There is no excuse for Ablett chatting back to the ref twice! If this didnt happen we wouldnt have to wait until the last play of the game to win it!

TBH we've usually had a dip in operformance in June/July time and whilst not necessarily poor discipline we have made plenty of mistakes. The team has got it's attacking back on line over the last month, the challenge now is to work on
1. defence - we all know that Leeds can improve their intensity here
2. ball control - 50% completion rate in 1st half.
3. Discipline - I'm hoping that thee club has not put too much emphasis on this to allow other parts of their game to improve.
They are now into the last 7 games of the season with a couple of weeks off for CC games. I expect to see the intensity start buildung up in all areas to peak at the playoffs.

Ablett has always been gobbie - he was like that in the academy. I think I saw him sent off at Belle Vue.

You would have thought the gooby little cockend would have learnt by now don't you?
Refs, especially Ganson, seem to be far less tolerant towards back-chat once they’ve already pinged a team for it which would possible explain why we got marched 10 the second time when Ablett laughed at Ganson the Great.
Saying that Ablett should have known better but in his defence he’s not the sharpest tool in the box now is he?

They are the same just Ganson applied the rules when they were broken. It would seem the leeds players and fans have a problem with this. Maybe you are not used to being penalised for breaking the rules. If this is the case then there really is a problem.

What utter bollox!!
What we and many other fans are getting annoyed about is being penalised when other teams (even in the same match) are not getting pinged for the same offences.
Our discipline is poor and we rightly get picked up on it but it's got to work both ways.
The consistency with awarding penalties is non exsistent within the same match so surely it needs improving??
I accept refs will make mistakes as do players and coachs alike but if they are gonna clamp down on the ptb for example then both teams have to reffed the same which clearly isn't the case!

My bad, I watched the match again last night, I though Ganson had given the penalty for a ball steal, he actually gave a knock on and then Ablett opened his mouth and it became a penalty.
On another topic I was at our new(ish) neighbours house yesterday for his son's 2nd birthday (our kids love him), he's RAF, I believe he's done some work on the Vulcan. It does a fly past for one of their many annual p!$$ups down at Lyneham.

Yes they will make mistakes which is fair enough but to suggest that teams are not reffed the same is, to use your term, 'utter bollox'. On Friday night you broke the rules and got pinged for it.

I am quite capable of making a reasoned judgement on the game regardless of who is playing. You were reffed no differently to Wakey on Friday night. Both teams were penalised as and when the rules were broken. The only wrong decision for me was the video ref for Peterson's try but that wasn't down to Ganson. What makes you think I haven't 'got over it'?

Watch the match again that clearly isn't the case!!
Ablett questioned a decision-penalty for dissent correct decision.
Grix questions a decision=no penalty.
Watch the break by obst in the 2nd half webb gets sin binned profesional foul.
The replay clearly shows ganson running directly past the tackle and looking at it and you clearly see obst's arm over webbs shoulder holding him on top of him!!
Leo-latu smashing sinfield in the head no shoulder contact whatsoever!!=no penalty.
I know Ali hit peterson high and should of being pinged that highlights another poor decision by our scouse friend.
That's just a few situatiions from fridays match it's happened all season i'm more than confident we will make the grand final my concern is the consistency of decisions within the game as a whole and it isn't improving imo.
Afterall don't we want the game to improve???????

| Your all moaning because Ganson is the only ref that pulls you up for what you are doing, usually you get away with it.
