Sweet FA probably. I was right, Leeds have no leverage. The best they have managed to accomplish is shift him off the cap for a season.

Yep but if he plays well they'll be more than just Hudds knocking at the door, ones that provide a chance of silverware.

I have to admire your positivity in the face of what is a mess for Leeds. We had the MOS not 12 months ago, now we have had to give (sorry, loan) him to Cas just so we don't have to pay his salary. Cas literally can't lose. Their squad was obviously not going to be added to so they had the cap space to take a gamble for 12 months. My guess is they will get "new Zak" the way Leeds did for a few months after his chastising post England debacle (right up until "Fag Gate"icon_wink.gif. Maybe he'll last a bit longer, who knows. But if he does meltdown later in the season he's straight back to us for 2018. Fantastic.
If he does recapture his best form, we all know he is the best FB in the league, and it will strongly suggest that there is a lack of man management capability at Leeds.

There is some ways it could troubling for Cas, especially if it does happen late in the season. They'll obviously be planning on how to fit him into their cap next season and some others might have to leave and they might also have to sell somebody to get the £160k, maybe Solomona to RU next season......what if they agree to that and at the eleventh hour the Hardaker deal goes all wonky. Also as pointed out, him together with Chase, can send Zak back but some damage could have already been done to the dressing room.

| All outcomes remain possible. If McDermott stands down at the season's end - a scenario that'd surprise no-one - I suspect the slate could be wiped clean.

| This from the VT
"Cas have reportedly turned down an offer of £300,000 for Denny Solomona who still has 2 years left on his contract, Cas stating he's not for Sale in more ways than one.
Today Solomona posted a picture with himself with Sale players playing table tennis which was removed.
reports from Sale are that his signing is immanent.
Cas just released a statement saying he is still not for Sale and it's know in the hands of their lawyers.
rumors are Solomona has retired from Rugby league so Sale can sign him for no transfer fee, if this is true and is legal then any league player can be signed by Union at anytime for no fee?"
---------------------------------
Sounds quite messy if true, wonder if getting no money for Solomona would effect Cas' ability to sign Hardaker permanently.

| Very underhanded from Solomona if true, not sure if I was a cas fan I'd still want him at the club.

Can't see how could remain there anyway now even if somehow it can't happen legally. Completely shown a lack of respect to his teammates and coaches and it's depriving the club of potential crucial big money.
Just wonder if he ever handed in a formal transfer request. Whilst in their rights to turn it down if so, when a player doesn't want to be there and the potential for a big fee is on offer then probably should've let him go. If he didn't ask for a transfer request then it really is a c**t's trick to go about it that way.

As you guys know and still SOME Cas fans are yet to realise, no 1 player is bigger then the club.

| Surely if Solomona "retires" from RL & then rediscovers his appetite for sport in the other code that is still breach of contract?
As many teams have found it's hard to enthuse & get the best from a player who wants away, even without considering the impact on the rest of the team.

| His earning potential in RU will be many multiples of what can earn in RL - their career is short do the best by the lad.

To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

Says a lot about the bloke's integrity. If the rumers are true, he's treated all the staff and fans at Cas with utter disdain.

| Players are happy to bleat about loyalty etc when it suits them, and remarkably fast to bring out the short career mantra (or servitude in the case of Hardaker) when they are given long-term deals which they no longer want.

Seems to be happening a little bit more now these days
We had 2 players last season who tried and got away with similar tactics.
Jake Emmit (Can you release me from my contract I want to play in Australia) - Few weeks later playing for Swinton
Rangi Chase (I have fell out of love with the game and want to go dig holes) - Few weeks later playing for Cas
And
It appears to be working

| Has the Serial Miscreant gone then?
But not finally gone, obviously, not contractually anyhow.
Who claimed the club had done a great deal and received a £160K transfer fee from Castleford? <GUFFAW>
Regards,
He's not a Serial Miscreant, cos...
