Wow, what a rant, makes no sense what so ever but Wow.

Are we in decline because we finished 4th & 5th the last 2 years, a quick look at this years table would suggest not. We won in 07, 08, 09 with virtually the same team. Of the 09 Grand Final team Donald, Senior, Diskin, Lauitiiti and Burgess have left and Smith returned but hasn't been the same player. Buderus and Eastwood came and went and McDermott took over a year earlier than planned with 2 of his major players out injured. We have also moved Sinfield from 13 to 6, Burrow from 7 to 9 and McGuire from 6 to 7. We've had plenty of change since 2009 and we still got to 2 cup finals, 1 Grand Final win and we were only 80 mins away in 2010. We have been and still are transitioning and still managed to do pretty well.

Last time I looked there was an 8 page thread on your board about an ongoing decline in hull's attendances stretching back to 2006. Remind me what year you last won a trophy? Surely HFC fans wouldn't be so fickle as to abandon a team that's not winning?

I'm sure if you check your recent history properly you'll see 07,08,09 GF WINNERS! 2010 Beaten CC finalists and losing play off semi finalists minus Peacock and Mcguire then 2011 Beaten CC finalists and GF winners.
Of course where we finsihed in the table really mattered NOT and saying yer the best defence after only 7 games means Fook all i remember all and sundry telling us what you lot were gonna do to the rest of SL when you signed Fitzgibbon ,"Baileys b##ch" O'meley ,Cyclops Long and that Pudding Luaki what happened there?
Thus far for 2012 WCC winners of course all that points to us in decline and points to you lot potentially finishing above us in the table this year!!!
Ellis is a great signing and will add quality to your mob but you've a long way to go before breaking through into the "Elite" in terms of winning GF's and consistantly been contenders.
However fickle you may say we are the Trophy Cabinet is doing just fine and talk of our decline and you rising to the top shows how thick as a Whale omlette you really are.
Enjoy your World class signing he'll do well imo but when Briscoe exits and you are still 6 quality players short then we'll see who's looking up.

Some interesting comments on this thread from rhinos fans about Hull FC's credentials to become a top team in SL and compete for silverware. The overwhelming view appears to be that the Ellis signing won't be enough to make any significant difference to their current position in the SL pecking order. In other words, they shall remain whipping boy SL rabble for the time being.

I shall make a note of such opinions and possibly refer back to them at some future date, particularly if the rhinos draw Hull again in the CC or the play-offs. It goes without saying that I shall yet again be declaring such encounters under the category of easy, low-intensity fixtures against whipping boy SL rabble where the rhinos just have to turn up to win. I also expect the very same people on this thread who have poo-pooed Hull's ambitions and chances of joining the big boys at the top (with or without Ellis) to engage in a complete u-turn by declaring my opinion as arrogant and unjustified - an agenda designed to set up the rhinos (win or lose) - despite overwhelming evidence of past results and performances indicating the relentless one-sided nature of such encounters.
