| Demetriou is still a leftfield choice; he's familiar with English conditions etc. and has a point to prove after Souths. He was heralded as the golden boy of coaching just a couple of years ago. Has his star fallen completely..?
Jason Ryles is sometimes mentioned in Aus but another assistant, and I think we need an established head coach now.
Sounds like Arthur is interested at the right price/opportunity, and Rowley sounds like he'd also consider, so perhaps this is a straight shoot-out between the two in reality.

| Quote: KaeruJim " Some of the reporting on his style concerned me a little bit (leaving players on the bench until the last 5 minutes, shudder...). '"
Yes I read that article and whilst he was a players favourite his style of play was let the forwards drive it up until they`re knackered and resist bringing on the subs as long as possible.
Most teams found the Eels out by defending against them until they ran out of gas.
Sadly we don`t have the forwards who can play that style of rugby.
I still think Lee Briers and or Jason Ryles might work.
Other than that get Wane in until the end of the season and take it from there.

| Sounds like Brian Mac. Presumably he's ruled out by default.

| Wonder if Arthur would be interested in an interim role until the end of the season and then Rowley from next year. If Rowley did want the job but doesn't want to leave Salford mid season it may suit all parties.

Firstly would Arthur want to come over just for a few months as a stand in and probably would feel insulted by that.
If Rowley was contracted in advance for next season and Arthur was successful we potentially end up in a worse position if Rowley fails.

I was thinking if that was something that suited Arthur as much as Leeds, in that he was free for another NRL job next season. It maybe that he wants the job full-time in which case he would then be offered a fulltime contract.

Yep absolutely spot on. It was a great talk by both men. He’d probably make a good coach Bedsy. Some player he was

Yep.
He would be my choice.
Trouble with coaches from Australia, is they tend to only stop a couple of seasons, as they either get an offer in the NRL or the wives get homesick.
We need stability for more than a couple of seasons.

| Bit of a strange one this! Does Rowley stay where he is and carry on with the Salford project and be seen as the next big thing. Or does he jump ship and move to us with totally different pressures loose a few this year and we’ll all blame the squad Smith assembled. But a poor off season and a poor start and everyone will be calling for his replacement.
