If we are to finish mid table we would need to win 50% of our games. So far we have won 20%. Pre-season we were certainly aiming much higher than mid table.

We've played Warrington, Saints and Wigan away so I wouldn't expect us to be at 50%. If you was aiming higher that's your issue I seem to remember Sinfield saying on more than one occasion it was going to take time and it clearly will. The club is being honest with fans if the fans choose to ignore those words with ideas of winning league leaders shields etc when the team is clearly not at the level at the moment they are deluded.

The team is stronger than last season, the style of rugby is better than last year but is not at the required level for a top team at the moment. We are in rebuild mode and it will take time.

Support the team at it's low points and enjoy the good times when they return.

Last year Huddersfield finished 6th by winning 13 games, drawing 1 and losing 16. That’s about 43% of games won.

This year we’ve lost against last year’s champions, last year’s league leaders and the favourites to win this year all away from home. We beat Salford. Then lost to Wakefield with a shocking performance, however they have finished 5th the last two seasons and I expect them to be above us this year.

The irritating thing is that at times our attack has actually been better than I anticipated. I'd assumed - wrongly - that Furner, particularly being an aussie, would concentrate on making our defence watertight a top priority. Had he got defence nailed we'd already be looking at a very useful team with much more to come.

It's probably fair to say we'll need to win around half of our games in order to finish around mid table, and it's also fair to say our current form doesn't quite support that. Whether or not Leeds improve more quickly than everyone else, we will see over the next couple of months.

Referring to Warrington, Saints and Wigan - well yes it's true to say they were last year's thises and thats, but that was last year. I've never known a season where all teams finish in exactly the same positions in consecutive seasons. Warrington and Saints do look good - but Cas are again leading the way early doors, and the one time we've faced them we also lost.

My point is, where are the "easy" games? We are going to need the occasional result against "last seasons...." in order to finish mid-table, because it's highly unlikely we'll beat London, Salford, Huddersfield, Catalans, HKR/Hull in both home and away fixtures. Saints game aside, we are still not looking really competitive against the better sides yet.

I'm certainly not panicking and personally feel we should end up away from the bottom places this year, but equally we shouldn't take anything for granted because the wheels and the sides of the wagon were off by the end of last season, and clearly there's still much to do.

Warrington had won 2 of 6 at this point last year and they were in a very similar position wise as us with new players and a new coach

I'm OK with 9th/10th if we play entertaining rugby when we can and start to blood some of the outstanding kids. I don't think we should underestimate just how bad we were last year.

I'd really only be upset if we finish that low and don't blood new players.

Hasn't Furner been an attacking coach for Souths for a couple of seasons? that's probably his strength and to be fair we look like a totally different side attacking wise this year.

Our defence is a massive issue though, which is disappointing as in the 2 warm up games I thought we actually looked quite strong in that department

Me too. I think Furner is giving established players a decent chance to prove their worth or see if they fit with his plans; i expect big moves in the ins outs again through the summer too and Furner to be able to bring in the players he wants.

Furner has some big calls to make this season on some “established” players as well as the ones we already know are on the fringes.

We have another full year and some salary cap space available for 2020 squad. On the positive side, if Furner gets players who can defend, I think he can coach arrack well and we could be in with a shout again reasonably quickly.

Lowes is just a gofer. His main task on Friday evening was to set out the cones for the warm up and bring out the tackling shields. In saying that he still put in more effort than Sutcliffe and Ferris.

My worst fears about the start of this season when I saw the fixture list have come true. I thought we'd do well to win 2 from first 5 games and I was right. I feared our confidence and the fans confidence would take a hit and nightmares of last season would surface and again that's what's happening.

Big big performance needed against hull but I fear the worst again

We have named Scott Taylor in our 19. No comment from the club yet but we had a reserve fixture on WCC weekend and it would appear that this has counted towards his ban since there was no first team game that week.
