| Don’t you mean he won’t be the last?
I’m staggered that we havent agreed some “loan” deals with London...

| I do wonder if there is some underlying issue with injuries that mean we know he's not going to improve. An already light pack just go lighter...

Hasn't he had an operation recently, maybe the club know it wont be a smooth recovery?

| I think Mitch and Ward are two of the ones Sinfield was referring to when he talked about the salary cap in the stand.
Shame Mitch couldn’t get on the field more, he was quite useful when on it, and his contribution needs to be replaced but with more minutes on the field.

i do not know specifically, hence question marks. but Sinfield questioned the attitude of some of the squad, and fitness. Garbutt now shipped out, make of that what you will.

| Garbutt had one season which was massively affected by injury - the one just gone. His appearances in '16 and '17 were slightly lower than others not because of a massive injury problem but because sometimes he wasn't picked.
This is the most bull transfer I've seen at Leeds in the past 20 years, I don't think I've been this angry since James Lowes was given to Bradford.
Garbutt was our best forward by a mile and we've just released him. We've made the squad weaker at a time when we're trying to strengthen. Watch him next season as he kills it at Hull KR.

| I find this a strange one, he was probably the only person in the squad with the size to worry defences as well as the desire to do the hard stuff. He has been injury prone last year, but in an era when it is not easy to bring in quality, it would only make sense if there is a decent replacement lined up - perhaps the Burgess slip of the tongue might be real (wishful thinking!)

A touch hyperbolic I think
What if getting rid of Garbutt means we sign Taupau?
Alternatively Hull KR could regret signing hm if he's sat in the stands for most of the season.

| Initially I was pretty shocked when I heard this was happening given he has been our most go forward prop...
What makes me wonder though is if he is so great why has he ended up at Hull KR. I know we were both in the bottom 4 but this must be seen as a backward step overall. If he is so good why does it not look like any top 8 side was in for him or an NRL club? There is more to this than meets the eye.
Leeds now need to sign a player better than him to show progress.

I don't know, but we have to trust in the judgement of the club don't we? They see the players every day, deal with indiscretions, problems, and monitor their health. He is a very big human to have bad knees and get away with it. I can't believe Crosby is the Garbutt replacement, so there has to be another prop in the pipeline you would think. Unless Leeds really are trying to construct a pack made entirely of second rowers and one hooker.
